For the past six years Trilogy has been creating music and touring around Michigan, bringing both the word and music to wherever they went. But now, after these long six years, the band has decided to give their music a rest. They have always enjoyed what they were doing and see it very hard to let the band go, but there is a time for everything.
That's not the end of music for this 5-piece band though. Lead singer, writer, and instrumentalist Jamin Bradley had plans to start a new band as soon as Trilogy came to an end. After deciding that he wanted to create a kind of music that people had never heard before, he confronted some of his friends and his brother (who played bass in Trilogy) about joining him in creating a new and very unique CD and then attempt to actually do it all in concert as well. Now of course bands do concert, but some of the material that is included in this CD is not so simple to do live.
Through this Jamin, his brother Jaron, and friends Taylor Keating and Bobby Menter started on a new band project called "The Newfangled Sequence." Their new album "The Beautiful Odyssey," is expected to be released at the end of March.
"It's the most professional album I've created so far," says Jamin. "It definitely is
something that most of the world has not heard. We've combined several genres to create a new style. I suppose the dominant genres would be techno and rock." And what an accurate description! This new sound consists of spliced beats, rocked out guitar riffs, and a massive amount of keyboards.
The twin guitarists from Trilogy, Eric and Andrew Gryzb, have also taken a route in music. Eric is currently working on a more hardcore sounding CD and is doing quite well with it. His guitar skills have come quite far in the past year and it's shown very well through his current work.
Andrew just recently decided to start work on a new project as well. He's currently in the process of making some acoustic folk songs for your listening pleasure. His ability to play several different instruments have really added to his ability to take this project to whatever level he wants.
The "Twin Factor" also help out with the recording process of "The Newfangled Sequence's" new album. Since the members of The Newfangled Sequence are at a bit of a distance to record, Eric and Andy have stepped in to help with guitars and bass on quite a couple of tracks.
Trilogy's drummer Stefan Bozman is focusing more on schooling at the moment, but his crazy drumming ability remains with him and the beat goes on. Who knows when we will see his next appearance! All we know is that we will hear his distinct drumming ability arise someday and we will know, that it is Stefan (The Boz) Bozman.
Please do not get the impression that Trilogy has separated under bad terms. All the members are still very close with each other and keep in contact all the time. The commitment for the band members had just become a little too much to take on, and so they've decided to take it at their own pace in the own projects. But who knows? Since they're all still very tight with each other, perhaps you will catch them in concert soon again, just playing out of the enjoyment of it all.
