Trinity James sings, writes and plays with the raw passion that is the essence of American rock music. With his band Big Bad, he takes the Springsteen-Mellencamp-Earle tradition to the next level, into an era of harder times with disarmingly honest songs riding on a heavier, guitar-based sound.
Trinity James’s connection to the American experience is real. His parents were still teenagers when he was born, and he watched his dad put dreams aside and take nine-to-five jobs to take care of his family. Early on while Trinity was growing up and absorbing the every move of his hero’s who he saw on the MTV, his father introduced him to the music of his generation by playing the rock records of – Springsteen, Cheap Trick, early Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cougar.
By the time James was 16, he was playing in local clubs in his home town of Madison, Wisconsin. From the beginning he was doing his own songs, inspired by classic rockers and seasoned with the heavier hand of second-wavers like the Ramones and Patti Smith. To balance the dark side of the working man’s life, he looked to the music of John Lennon and U2 for a sense of hope.
The result is a collection of songs on his indie CD that capture the spirit of life in America – a spirit of hope and determination when the odds seem unbeatable. “Keep On,” one of James’s earliest writing efforts, expresses his unwillingness to give up in situations like “Fight Tonight,” where “there ain’t no heroes gonna see it through.” He sings of burning hearts, dying dreams and “the dark place in my head” in “Beds on Fire.” He is blunt and honest in “Daddy Walked” about the pain and the consequences of a father leaving. A solo performance – just James and a slide guitar – underscores the troubled thoughts of “Easier to Believe.” But where others would sink into bitterness and resignation, James finds that “love is the only thing left” that can “Save This Town.”
The force of James’s hard-hitting lyrics is matched by the powerful, guitar-heavy, East Coast sound of his band, Big Bad. Whether he’s headlining at a nightclub or opening concerts for rock icons Bon Jovi and Nashville’s renegade Muzik Mafia (featuring Big and Rich), Trinity James is delivering passionate, honest rock music with a ring of truth that America needs to hear.
" I heard people talking about Jim Morrison and I heard people talking about Steve Earle. So I suppose you could say Trinity James is a cross between Morrison and Steve Earle! "- Jim Gorman owner of The Speak Easy

We are vikings... our van is our longboat.. the highway our ocean...
We pile into our boat with our weapons of the trade. We travel long distances over the open sea. By the time we reach their shore we have worked ourselves into a savage frenzy. Our goal is simple. To lay waste to our detractors. To make believers of those who will follow us. We will take their money. We will steal the hearts of their women. We will drink their beer. We will set their taverns on fire.
You guys did exactly as a viking should have. I am proud.
On wednesday regardless of who shows up, you should do it again. Knock them over with all the energy and force of a viking invasion. Make them wonder what the fuck just happend to them. Leave the competition cowering in the ditches.
poor little mousey men.. they should be so lucky to have witnessed such an event and survived.
There will be no room in our boat, nor valhalla for the meek.
