Trois artistes montréalais sont partis d'une nouvelle formation musicale. Dans le cadre des grands trios brésiliens des années 60 et 70, Trio Bruxo ("trio des sorciers") prend des chansons de l'histoire riche de la musique populaire du Brésil (MPB) et les jouent avec un ésprit improvisatoire. Leur répértoire inclut les sambas et bossa novas moins connus par les maîtres Jobim et Chico Buarque, le pop cristalline de Djavan et Ivan Lins, la musique instrumentale de Hermeto Pascoal et la musique folklorique du nord-est (baião) par Luiz Gonzaga.
Les individus qui compris Trio Bruxo devient vite des musiciens bien connus sur la scène montréalais.
Pianiste David Ryshpan dirige l'Indigone Trio, dont il a donné deux spectacles au Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. Il est actif dans les communautés musicaux de jazz et R&B.
Bassiste Nicolas Bédard, originaire de Québec, est égalment à l'aise sur le contrebasse, en faisant tournée canadienne avec batteur Karl Schwonik, que le basse électrique avec le formation Groove Attic.
Batteur Mark Nelson a paru aux côtés de plusieurs artistes, dont les trios jazz Fieldtrip et Parc-X, chanteuse Sophie Tremblay et Matt Lipscombe (ex-Me Mom & Morgentaler).

Three of Montreal’s rising young jazz musicians have come together in a new project. In the vein of the great Brazilian jazz piano trios of the 1960s and 1970s, Trio Bruxo (“wizard trio”) takes songs from the rich library of música populeira brasileira (MPB) and filters them through their reverent, yet improvisatory, lens. Their repertoire includes lesser-known sambas and bossa novas by masters Tom Jobim and Chico Buarque, the crystalline pop of Djavan and Ivan Lins, the exploratory instrumental music of Hermeto Pascoal, and even the northeastern folk baião of Luiz Gonzaga.
The individual members of Trio Bruxo are quickly becoming fixtures on the Montreal scene:
Pianist David Ryshpan leads Indigone Trio, with whom he performed at the 2008 Montreal Jazz Festival. Additionally, he is an active freelancer in Montreal’s jazz, R&B and singer-songwriter communities. Bassist Nicolas Bédard, originally from Quebec City, is equally at home touring Canada on upright bass with drummer Karl Schwonik and laying down the foundation on electric bass for rising stars Groove Attic. Drummer Mark Nelson has performed alongside many artists including jazz trios Fieldtrip and Parc-X Trio, chanteuse Sophie Tremblay and ex-Me Mom & Morgentaler member Matt Lipscombe.
