Sounds Like
the classic power trio of the 60's and 70's, updated with a mix of alternative, blues, and jam...playing originals and covers, all given the Lo-Fi treatment
Triple Lo-Fi is a rock band from Indiana. They use the classic power trio format of drums, bass, and loud, electric guitar. Chris McGinnis plays guitar and sings most of the songs. Eric Andrews plays bass and supplies background and occasional lead vocals. Jerry Tucker plays drums. Chris has been around the Kokomo music scene since the early 90's, mostly with The Goodnight Bros. Band or one of it's many variations. He plays guitar and wrote many of the songs on their 1996 cd Back Home. The 2001 Zen Deli demo's saw Chris playing in a 3 piece band (with Tom Harshman and Brian Smith) and on lead vocals for the first time. Red, P.O.W., and Painted Light were among the standout tracks and are fine examples of Chris' impressive songwriting. In 2005 Bloomington born bass player Eric Andrews and Chris began jamming together and the chemisty was apparent. Eric is a 20 year rock veteran, playing in bands all the way from North Dakota to Florida. Eric and Chris quickly recorded some demo's which featured the song Letting Go and a early version of Trees. In need of a drummer, through mutual friends and good timing they discovered Jerry Tucker. Jerry had traded playing drums for motocross racing in his earlier days and had now given up the bikes and was looking for a band. Everything clicked and Triple Lo-Fi was born. The band began playing shows around the Kokomo area in early 2006. Superbird and Trees are hot off the press, recorded in April 2007.
