About me:
Our filmmaking philosophy in a nutshell: "The alternative cinema provides a space for a cinema to be born which is radical in both a political and an aesthetic sense and [which] challenges the basic assumptions of the mainstream film."
TRIP was an Official Selection of the First Take Film Festival and screened on April 10, 2008 at noon in the historic Imperial Theater in Augusta, Georgia.
The Portland premiere was a rousing success. Thanks from us to all of you who were able to make it and especially to the Friday crowd who braved a snowstorm to see the film.
TRIP Logline: Tess picks up Denny and Claire, two hitchhikers, in a laundromat and the three embark on a darkly comic journey into a world of sinister games and surreal encounters where nothing ends, not even death.
Gitgo Productions is the collaborative brainchild of Kate Kaminski and Betsy Carson. Eight films and 13 years later, TRIP is the duo's third short feature. This 53-minute narrative expresses the disjointedness and surreality of reverie; it is simultaneously macabre and comic in its examination of how the personality splinters and reintegrates itself in dream. The film stars Buffy Miller, Tamara Kissane, Keith D. Anctil, Scott Mullenberg, and Neil Andersen.
If asked why they continue to forge ahead on their off-off-off-off Hollywood track, they'll inevitably reply, "We don't have a choice. We make films. It's what we do."
Kaminski and Carson tend to have several projects in development at a time and hope not to have to wait another six years before making their next film.
