Let us introduce ourselves - We are TRiP-TRONiC - promoters of live electronica nights in Manchester / a forthcoming label / & all round lovers of great electronic music!
The initial idea behind TRiP-TRONiC was to provide a platform for live electronic musicians to come forward and perform along side like minded / similar acts.
Due to the fact that there was a lack of nights in Manchester with a focus on electronic bands / artists, we felt we had to do something about this - Therefore TRiP-TRONiC was born.
When we're choosing bands to play forcoming events, we ask ourselves a few questions:
firstly are they a electronica based act/band/artist?
if not solely, do they have a hint of electronica in their music?
alternatively, are they just a great band? (that we feel would sit well alongside other electronic acts)
We are by no means biast towards some of the great Indie/rock bands that frequenty appear on the music scene in and around Manchester (we are infact good frends with a lot of them), so not all TRiP-TRONiC events are completely / strictly electronca themed, although we feel our main aim is to consentrate our efforts on the growing trend in live electronic music.
Note to bands: drop us an message or email trip-tronic@hotmail.co.uk if you'd like to get involved in a future event, so we can check you out!

SANDMAN MAGAZINE - TRiP-TRONiC MAPs Festival Review
"Whilst there's not much of interest at the Dry Bar headquarters sometime leftfield electronic organisers TRiP-TRONiC have got something intriguing in the intimate downstairs of Centro."
"Armrug batter out pop punk songs, fizzing a careless synth through it all. The Fact that these 3 can move from a spiderman theme to a devo assult seems pretty fun, and sure enough a limited but hyper 20 minutes is best remembered for meeting The Hives and Art Brut on the cheekily manic 'I Love You Can I Go Down On You?'. With a laughable dramatic change in energies Light Syndicate are intense in a different mood. Radiohead influences are as extensive being pure tribute-aping the quivering depths of Kid A's mumbles in the wine of that vocal on High Rise Buildings-but there's not much faulting their conviction. The four of them manage quite a variety of sounds unfurling into the ethereal devels work which stands out as their malevolenty drewing darkness." An all round great night!
Not only a review, but the band on the Front cover of July's Sandman 'Tarentum' played at our April TRiP-TRONiC Electro Boy Electro Girl club night this year.
£7 tickets available for all advance choose concessions, £9 on the night if any tickets remain.
Barbara Morgenstern One of the primary producers on Gudrun Gut's Berlin-based electronic-pop label Monika Enterprise, Barbara Morgenstern debuted in 1999 with the Vermona ET 6-1 album. Through 2000's Fjorden and 2003's Nichts Muss, her melodic sense became more pronounced, and with time she also began fielding remix requests (Dntel, Station 17, Ellen Allien, Malaria!, Smash TV). Tesri, a collaborative release with To Rococo Rot's Robert Lippok, came out in mid-2005. The Grass Is Always Greener followed in 2006. Barbara will be playing songs from her new album BM released in October which includes a collaboration with Robert Wyatt.
Peterloo Massacre Formed in late 2006, Peterloo Massacre (Paul Green, Colin Fry, Howard Jones and Kin) blend 80's electronica with 90's indie, trip-hop and contemporary folk. In result they are guided by the highly unique vocal lines of Kin through surreal synth-based soundscapes. They have been compared to Massive Attack, Thom Yorke and Portishead and have shrugged off the indie electro-pop zeitgeist in favour of something more cerebral and are all the more seducitve in consequence. Their self-titled e.p showcases the band's deft ability to span multiple genres and make it look effortless. The e.p includes a remix by the acclaimed beatmaker and arranger Robert Lippok. If new sounds are craved then Peterloo Massacre are making them loudly.
eye channels may have viewed goggle box presentation on todays C4s Orange Unsigned broadcast package of Fangs making 'SICKO' noise. Double thumbs up from tele face opinionators but for once they're right on the money money!
