   About TRI
TRI has been in operation,on a sporadic basis since 2000 C.E.,mainly to publicise my own musical ventures.Soon TRI will release it's first major C.D. release.Unless stated all releases are CD-R's,(were not format snobs here)!!So with a new era beckoning TRI started it's life with....................................................................................................... TRI 1.1 46,000 FIBRES with SCANNER:5th ANNIVERSARY CONCERTS / TRI 1.2 46,000 FIBRES with LOL COXHILL:5th ANNIVERSARY CONCERTS / TRI 1.3 46,000 FIBRES with NIK TURNER:5th ANNIVERSARY CONCERTS . . . . As the titles suggest these CD's document a celebration of 46,000 Fibres in their 5th year. They invited guest players to take part in these improvised concerts, that dealt in the musical areas that interested them. Scanner was invited to relect 'the Fibres' love of all things electronica.Lol Coxhill for the free jazz angle & Nik Turner to represent the psyche rock spectrum. The lengths all clock in at 50-60 mins & they have a bonus of rarities from their archive!! 46,000 Fibres are an improvising unit that 'shook up' the London free music scene with verve & gusto. With a background in 'out there' rock these CD's are chock a block with musical suprises. Their earlier albums likened them to FAUST,CAN,SOFT MACHINE & AMM,especially. Lockjaw fanzine said at the time...'the Fibres offer more in one album than most bands do in a lifetime'.................................................................................................................................................................... TRI 4 KOVEN-OE:SPHARENKLANGEN . . . . Before 'the Fibres' & Robin Rimbaud becoming Scanner,(curretly in Githead), they had a unit called Koven-oe.This album is suprisingly highly structured.Consisting of surreal soundscapes & techno charged thumping beats it takes you to another place all together. They did play live but this crafted music is all that remains............................................................................................................................................................ TRI 5 DIARY:BROWN ENVELOPE . . . . Diary were formed in 1996.Their debut 'Got to get in Love (by Tuesday) released on Dyscfunctional, was a critical success that led to Ben Watson,of The Wire, descibing them as 'the last prole art threat in town'.Revolving around the words of John Plant it is too easy to decribe them as The Fall & Velvet Underground inspired. As with the words there is much more going on beneath the surface with this unit................................................................................................................................................................. TRI6 46,000 FIBRES:CONCATENATIONS . . . . For this release 'the Fibres' ditched the improvisations to turn in a set of structured compositions & soundscapes.Produced by A-Soma (Crass Agenda) the studio is used as another instrument but not in a 'over the top way'.The final mix is like listening to as yet unmade films for the listener to picture. Lots of electric/acoustic instruments are used, lots of emotion being a result.Pre-emo!! If improvised music is not your bag but want challenging 'outsider rock'-this is for you.More to the point 'the Fibres' went outside their normal channels to get a deal for this release. Can you handle it?................................................................................................................................................................................................ TRI7 46,000 FIBRES:THE FREEDOM OFFENSIVE or OFFENSIVE FREEDOM . . . . A return to full blast improv as they fire of a musical riposte to the neo-cons(same as the old ones). This is their war album with particular reference to the Gulf crises. The music is full on,angry, reflective, and basically 'kicks out the jams'.There are quieter moments of introspection.Alan Freeman of Ultima Thule likened it to weird wigged out Zappa type jazz. The band refer to the spirit of American free jazz of the 1960's with its wild blowing.A bit Sun Ra ,a bit Sonic Youth it's the perfect antidote for the post millenium blues!!Less 'krauty' than their previous efforts though!! ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................... TRI8 UNDERGROUND (K)NO(W) ONE:NET THE SERF . . . . This is an oddity- 15 tracks from the U.K.'s fastest rising mis-leading rap-rock protest singer!!It's a collision between Syd Barrett/Daevid Allen with the spirit of the late 1970's punk D.I.Y. scene thrown in.Acid campfire music, indeed.A certain Julian Cope rather liked this one!!Full of songs that twist, turn & hopefully will burn into your heart.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. TRI9 DAMO SUZUKI & NOW:THE LONDON EVENING NEWS . . . . Not availble as yet, hopefully in 2006. A live album from his Never Ending Tour. Accompanied by up-coming NOW. E-mail us for availability....Our releases are not chronological!! ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. TRI X 46,000 FIBRES:CYTE PACIFIC . . . . A double C.D. & the best place to start for newcomers to this unit.Celebrating 10 years of their life,it features new additions from Scanner,Coxhill & Turner (& old ones), alongside previously unreleased 'Fibres'. It also gathers up their best & favourite bits. Over 2 hours of prime time 'Fibres'. Also includes the history of the unit & ace artwork its a bumper little package.Recommended for all fans of 'outsider rock'................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ TRI11 DIARY:GROWING OLD & ABSURD IN EAST LONDON . . . . This their 2nd album is referred to as their 'lost album'.Recorded by their first line-up,in 1998, it has only seen the light of day this year.Musically they have matured a bit, less Fall more Velvets but again that's a lazy description for this hard to pigeon hole band.Includes their classics 'Just Another Feminist Hero','Docklands Light Railway Children' & 'Mile End Wasted' & others it rocks along, with John Plant's incisive word play to the fore.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... TRI12 DIARY:CURSE AND MAKE UP . . . . At 79 minutes this is a bumper packed album produced by the bands second line up.(The third line up is also late in delivering their album)! It includes the well acknowledged classic 'Cold Calling' & eleven other gems,It has to be made clear that there is more to them than Fall/V.U. comparisons.'Wake up Leroy' at over 11 mins is a great tale of 'the first black biker to do 100 m.p.h.' that rocks like hell whilst the title track should bring tears to the eyes.John Plant's words are again not the normal stupid rhymes that others employ. It was this set that was sent to John Peel, who lost the tape & subsequently put out an appeal on air. However hard they tried it was not to be...A Peel session would have put them right up there! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAMO SUZUKI & NOW-THE LONDON EVENING NEWS A live recording of a concert from March 2004....limited edition CD.(TRI9) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + New albums from UNDERGROUND (K)NO(W) ONE.....& INNER SUNNS +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++The mother of all compilation albums....details soon... **************************************************************** PRICES:All CD-R's are £7 including p & p except: TRI X £8(2xCD) including P & P........... TRI9 £9 inc p&p **************************************************************************************** Best to e-mail.....trirecords@hotmail.co.uk and we will take it from there. TRI welcomes any recordings, demos etc to be sent to us,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Hope to hear from you!! Tonal D.
