Bio:
Trish’s musical journey began on a piano at the tentative age of five, among the tors and fens of the Peak District, Buxton. Since then she has found her true love in singing a range of styles from jazz, funk and blues to madrigals and contemporary chamber music.
Trish is a versatile conductor and musical director, having MD’d her first show (Wizard of Oz) at the age of fifteen. Since then she’s turned her hand to Big Band work, having MD’d ‘Lil’ Big Band’ for three years at Bath Spa University and more recently ‘The Trish Brown All-Stars’. Her love for music is also expressed in her work as an arranger and singer songwriter, with her current project ‘The Trish Brown Band’ performing a fusion of originals and jazz standards around the South West. Her recent performances have been at Glastonbury Festival 2011, Marlborough Jazz Fest 2011 as well has Bristol Harbour Festival 2011.
The Trish Brown Band has a distinctive style that combines the best of original jazz, funk and blues. The combination of heavy funk from the rhythm section offset by the bluesy quality of their lead vocalist makes this band one of the hottest groups around the South West. They have performed at a range of festivals including, Aeon 2011, Nibley Fest 2011 and Bristol Acoustic Festival 2012 and have been well received by audiences of all shapes and sizes.
They feature Ed Gallimore on Kit, Matt Hill on Guitar, Sam Mills on Keys, Rich O’Brien on Bass, Jonny Herbert on Alto Sax and are fronted by Trish Brown.

‘If the weekend’s proceedings are bannered as an acoustic event, nobody told The Trish Brown Band. They’re plugged in, saucy, swinging. Frontwoman Trish smoulders in a power-red wrap around, her almost-scatted vox running smooth against the band’s kinetic, neo-soul vibrations.’ (Venue 2012)
