You lot need a manager and then you'll always be working!!" Andy Higgins (Acoustica)

Sounds Like
We sound like us. Even when covering others' songs. Nice.
Trí - Irish for three and pronounced longer than the " i " in trick but shorter than the " e " in tree - is made up of Phil Graham - vocals, acoustic guitar, acoustic bass and Irish bouzouki; Gary Grainger - vocals, acoustic, electric and slide guitars; and David Pratt on a variety of percussion instruments including Roland kit, jembe, cajon, bodhran.
Unlike a lot of acts Trí was not born out of a desire by an individual or individuals to form a band. Trí simply evolved over a relatively short period of time until brought together by a coincidental meeting which found all three musicians sharing a stage together in Newton Aycliffe during March 2008. Prior to that Phil and Gary had met and played ocassionally during 2007 and David was introduced to the act at Newton Aycliffe. The sound produced by the three of them at that Newton Aycliffe show was so perfectly balanced that they decided to formalise their musical relationship whilst at the same time not compromising inidividual musical pursuits or aspirations. Phil continues to perform solo acosutic shows under his own name and Gary and David play in a rock and blues band called Big G.
Trí have an attitide to their shows which is to play "music for whatever the gig requires" . Their set lists contain a selection of styles from contemporary folk through to blues and rock and often incorporating all three in the one act. Audients hear a range of well known classic songs and some which are not so well known. But Trí do not simply cover songs. Instead they perform songs by other artistes in their own style. There's even a few self penned tunes in the mix as well.
Based in South Durham, Trí are available for concerts, festivals, private functions and the like. Please direct all enquiries to Phil at phil@filmar.co.uk or Gary at gary@featcovers.com or David at david@itude.demon.co.uk
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
