I love tea, wine and porter ale; apple pie and carrot cake; I love food and enjoy cooking. I'm obsessed with Celtic and Japanese culture. I really like Spain and Germany.

I think that sounds cool! I like romance and Zombies . I just saw Doom (zombie movie) last night and it was great. Yep vampires and zombies are two of my favorite things.

I'm trying to write my statement of purpose for graduate school and apparently you are supposed to give yourself at least a couple of months to write it. I now see why. My statement is absolutely horrible and I have a week to fix it.
My weekend was average I had to rush to complete a scholarship application, I watched a movie and made cinnamon rolls with my bff, drank some cheap wine, I got stuck in an elevator, I cleaned my apartment, went to el torito with some friends and went out for breakfast at hometown buffet, because for some reason I don't care how bad the food is as long as there is a buffet I am ridiculously happy, I think it's because buffets are perfect for frugal indecisive people who love to eat.
How was your weekend? and you can't just say good you have to give a long drawn out description like me.

Oh no that's not good, how did you go from getting better to getting worse? Maybe I did jinx you or something, oops. I won't jinx you anymore I promise so you can get better now. Yes Dr. Tsui does seem cool but I absolutely abhor physics. THat class is way too long. The entire time I was in class I was just looking at the clock waiting for it to be over. I don't see how physics will ever benefit me so it's just a big waste of time and did I mention that I HATE it?

I havn't officially started at UCSD yet, I start the 1st. I had two weeks of training at Scripps and that was really really fun, I love it there. I'm taking Physics too on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Don't forget hiking in Torrey Pines and the Burnham Institute there close to UTC too.
I'm moving to UTC in San Diego. The internship is funded by the California Institute of Regenerative Medcine so I'll be making iPS cells from patients with genetic disorders then differentiating them into neurons to study the disease. I could technically make iPS cells from my cells inject them into a mouse blastocyst implant it then get some really weird mouse/Amanda chimeras but I think I might get in trouble for that :). I'll be working in Dr. Gleeson's lab at UCSD.
Yeah being sick is no fun especially in this heat right before school starts.
