I've spent my entire life thinking I was looking for the one, but have now realized I was using an outdated model of the family unit. I now know I am searching for two. Especially if I want to raise children appropriately.
So, I had a major epiphany over the Holiday Season. Economics, a Social Science, requires the following attention regarding the family unit. The previous economic state allowed one income to support a family both financially and culturally. This was represented by two individuals, one of which was responsible for the passage of cultural and moral values.
The current economic state now requires two incomes to support a family both financially and culturally. Given the terms, as defined above, it is only logical that the family unit be expanded. This expansion is done in the best interest of the children, so that they are raised with love and the best family input (both cultural and moral) which society has to offer them.
