Trixie’s Shadow
Gerda and I had always anticipated that when we lost her, the pain would be terrible, but the grief proved to be immeasurably more intense than we had expected. For a month, I could not write. In memory of Trixie
Our beloved dog, Trixie, in the grip of an aggressive cancer and facing an imminent--and painful--bursting of a tumor in her heart, was gently put to sleep by her vet on Saturday 30 June, while she lay on her favorite outdoor couch, on the patio, where she had so often enjoyed watching the rose gardens and the sea while being petted...

Welcome to the Trixie Koontz MySpace page
Hello and welcome to my new MySpace page! I also now have own website. It’s about time, but had to wait since Dad’s been busy writing so many books, including his latest – a memoir of me called A BIG LITTLE LIFE. Is a touching, funny book. Since I, Trixie, am also dog critic, am giving it five stars. Hope you like book and my new site. Lots of good stuff to see and sniff (if you are dog), and I share secrets of happy life. Don’t forget to read my latest book, BLISS TO YOU.

About Trixie
I was a CCI assistance dog. After elbow surgery, was retired from service and came to live as a Koontz in Newport Beach. Wrote three books to raise money for other assistance dogs. My favorite toy was a tennis ball. But not just to chase. Dad would hide the ball, then say "Trixie find," and I would sniff it out. Dad is very sneaky-clever hider of ball. Game was big fun. I used to like to do tricks like picking up a dime from stone floor with teeth. Was trained to do this as assistance dog. Dad eventually dropped enough change, I could buy Cadillac. My big dream was always to drive. Got car, but crazy laws won't allow me to have driver's license.
