is what the young singer and guitar player names his interpretation of the american westcoast- and new american music. He calls it like that because since his 12th birthday he has seen an infinite number of roads to countless stages throughout europe. This means the world to him! He has won the “German Rock & Pop” Titel when he was eighteen and those miles even brought him into the final show of “TV total”(Superstar Casting Show) in January 2008.
Today, 8 months later and many wellpromising airplays he is holding his first own and reald CD in his hands. To the twenty year old artist this makes up for all the work. He started with nothing in his hands or pocket and with the experience on stage and making good progress out of the TV total final. After that the phone calls came step by step. Tommy got offered a sponsorship to produce
an album. He has had contacts like that before but no label yet.
Therefore he is still fighting alone without label and his album cannot be bought in the normal sales departements. For the time beeing it can “only” be bought exclusively at the counters of about 500 gasstations throughout germany. This is more than for example all the Media- and Saturnshops in germany together. An album that was written and composed for him by songwriters and producers all over the world (not like the former CD’s - whith cover songs)
He is aware that the record industry is changing and he is not totally convinced that the time is alrady right for the way he chose for the cd player of the music fans.
(apart the majorlabels and its daughters) But othersides, “who would not have taken the chance?” Tommy Roberts jr. says while smiling and his portrait on the big posters at all “STAR-gasstations” is animating the pople to buy his album.
The casting of Stefan Raabs “SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD” was already his second one. In 1999, almost ten years ago, Tommy was successfully attending the casting in Augsburg for the musical “King Ludwig”” in Füssen and got the role of “Prince Otto”. This is when he had his first experiences on stage and he felt so good that he never wanted to get away anymore. Even if he had then already known that his actual job as a professional musician was not going to be a simple one - always swinging from gigs to studios and having to look for promoters, sponsors, radiostations etc.
But “We Can’t Go Wrong”” as he already responses it with the titel of his new album!
