Television
I rarely watch any. I like Boston Legal (Denny Crane!) I also like the History Channel. I liked the John Adams series on HBO.
For news I watch Fox and CNN mostly.
Books
John Adams, 1776, Carl Sandburg's Abraham Lincoln, Lindberg, Over the Edge of the World (Magellan),The Historian, lots of books about submarines. I like history. I read some, especially historical biographies, then some mystery novels, then more non-fiction. I recently read "My Life on the Prairie," by George Armstrong Custer... Fantastic book! Now reading the biography of Andrew Jackson. We are a GREAT country! Just finished, "Blood and Thunder." Awesome!!! Now have finished Ben Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Einstein. I am now reading, "A terrible Glory," about Custer at the Little Bighorn... great book!
My favorite fiction authors are Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They collaborate and also publish individually. I love their character, FBI Special Agent Pendergast. I recently discovered Rick Blechta. His book, "Cemetery of the Nameless," is fantastic!
I also love Invention & Technology Magazine (sadly, no longer published), and Air & Space Magazine.
Heroes
My Dad and my older sister, Tina. Both fought and suffered bravely in their respective fights against leukemia. Sadly, both lost. I miss them terribly. Bear... He was my favorite dog ever. I loved him every minute of every day he was on earth. He was also my best friend and a noble dog. RIP old friend.
About me: I like restoring and playing Mellotrons. I have worked on more than 30 of them so far. I also like to have others play them and to get them out where the public can see, hear and enjoy them. There are tons of photos you can look at if you like Mellotrons. I have other interests as well. I love motorcycles and flying. And I like dogs. I have two Dobermans. Check out this site to learn more about me. That's about it for now. If there's something you want to see or something you want to know... ask. Oh yeah, PLEASE WATCH MY VIDEOS AND LOOK AT MY PHOTOS. Leave me your comments.
Amazing Mellotron Restoration - The "Blue Mellotron" # 1018 is R Frank | MySpace Video
Who I'd like to meet: MELLOTRON FANS WELCOME. Other than that I'd like to make as many new friends as I can. No politics or perversions. I have my own, thanks. I have a wife. She's awesome. I'm happy. Also, I am NOT a joiner.
Hi Frank thanks so much for the comment and the listen if you want to hear more of Dream Aria please visit our singer site at www.myspace.com/areddress
Gee, that's pretty lame...He would have to play with his left hand while pitch-bending...I used to just grab the pitch dial, considering my left hand was usually on the pitch dial anyway, just to keep the thing in tune in general...GB
Really happy to meet you 'cause I love the mellotron! Got one on "Umbrella Birds" on my page under Music, that's Peter Stroud on slide guitar. Thanks for your nice comments. Keep those mellotrons running!
Hi Frank, I'm really glad to have you as a MySpace friend. If you have the time, remember to check out the "HFMC raw and fresh, taken from rehearsal" video and blogs. Enjoy the weekend and take care. Hasse (HFMC, The Flower Kings)
The mellotron worked great. Only thing was the pitch/speed wheel didn..t work quite like it..s supposed to, so some planned pitch bending stuff didn..t work like planned, but that was no biggy. We then re-amped the tracks thru a guitar amp back at the real studio. Sounds very nice - Morten
Gargamel..s second album titled Descending is out now. Psychedelic artock/prog with stoner, space and desert rock flavours. Got lots of mellotron (recorded at Lars Fredrik frøyslies appartment)
Should appeal to fans of King Crimson, Anekdoten and Van der graaf Generator.
