THANK YOU
First off, I want to thank you for stopping by. I especially want to thank you if you decide to add this site as a friend.
INTRODUCTION
My name is Tim. I'm just an average 27 year old and haven't served in the military. I never really appreciated the sacrifices made by our military until a few years ago. I, like many of you, were greatly affected by the events of September 11, 2001. Since that day I, like many of you, have a new found appreciation for the troops protecting us day in and day out. This site is dedicated to every person that has ever been in the United States Military, from the Revolutionary War to today. Whether you served during wartime or peacetime, here at home or abroad, this site is for you. It's just my little way of saying thank you for making the United States of America the best country in the world, and protecting not only myself and my fellow Americans, but also the freedoms we all enjoy so much by being an American. From the bottom of my heart I thank you.

To The Troops
You are all in our thoughts - and prayers - every single day. I remember a newspaper cartoon that depicted a the wreckage of the twin towers, and a fallen injured fireman handing an American Flag to a soldier - with the caption of the soldier saying "we'll take care of this from here..." When I think of that soldier I am thinking of you. In John F. Kennedy's inaugural address he said "In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger" - He was talking about your service today - now. Words are inadequate to express the gratitude that all Americans - indeed, all free peoples - would want to express regarding your service - and your sacrifice - but know that you are appreciated and honored - and in our thoughts and prayers every day.

To all whom might read this. I know you might be hearing all the news articles saying that we shouldn't be in Iraq and that we aren't doing any good over there. I've listened to some of you soldiers on various talk radio shows and have listened to the various things that have been done over there to help the civilians. I will be 60 years old in July. I served during the Viet-Nam era aboard the U.S.S. Boston CAG-1. I wasn't really sure why I was there. However, when I'd come home on leave and my family and friends would tell me how proud they are of me it hit home. I was never on land in Nam but did give support with our 8" guns. We'd hear from various soldiers who were thankful of our support that it made it worthwhile. I started to realize why I was there. I was safe aboard the ship and I did what I was asked of me to help make our troops a bit safer on the beach. I just want you all to know how PROUD I am of you all. In my book you are all heroes. I don't know any of you personally but want you to know that you all are in my prayers. Don't listen to the negative crap that is being broadcast on some TV and Radio stations or in the newspapers. Everybody I know and have talked to support you all very much. I pray for you and your families to keep you all safe and secure. May God be with you all!

I would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to write a message, send a package. With everything you do day to day, you raise the morale of toops at home and abroad. I wish you could see the eyes of a service member when they see that people back home are in full support of what they are doing and will continue to support them as they return home. just have to say thank you to everyone who supports us. I've been having my own personal crisis for the past few weeks. I've been in the Air Force for 13 years next month, I'm single, and I'm stationed in Korea for the second time. I didn't want to come back here. The truth is that I hate it here. I hate everything about this place. I am so miserable that it pains me to wake up and go to work. But something just changed...my own little epiphany. It took a little girl, a 7-year-old cancer patient on TV to remind me what I was doing it for. I'm serving for her. I'm the one who's protecting her and her family from the enemies abroad, the enemies who threaten her recovery and her right to live comfortably. She has bigger things to worry about. I'm here so she can be there. I want to apologize for my momentary selfishness, and thank every one of you for supporting me and my brothers and sisters. Your support doesn't go unnoticed. Invisible Soldier
You can tell her by the twinkle in her eye,
At parades when the flag marches by.
She served our country and she served it very well
Some have even served a tour or two in Hell.
She suffered hardship and never ceased to care.
It gave us strength just to know that she was there.
She was a leader, you could tell by the rank she wore,
But she became the invisible soldier after the war.
Now, it is finally time to right a wrong.
Honor our sister soldier; hear her song.

Freedom Isn't Free
I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze
A young soldier saluted it, and then
He stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many Pilots' planes shot down?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No Freedom isn't free
I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant "Amen"
When a flag had draped a coffin
of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard at the
bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.....

Thoughts Of A Soldier
I struggle to see my objective for the sand blowing in my eyes,
I hear the sound of explosions like thunder from the sky,
My mouth is dry and my body aches,
I must push on no matter what it takes,
the lives of so many innocent keeps running through my mind,

The Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,

Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
