In 2005, brothers Barry and Bryan Runion formed what came to be the most unique style of music in the metal movement. With just bass and drums, the brothers created a sound that no one had heard before. Previously in For the Public, which broke up in March 2005, Barry and Bryan still needed an outlet for music. They had never played metal before, but succeeded quite efficiently by listening to styles they wanted to incorporate.
The Rider on the White Horse played shows all over the state of Arkansas over the course of two years, becoming the newest and most popular name in the state. "Everyone we talked to, asked us if we knew who The Rider on the White Horse was..." Bryan says. "...it was ironic because we were them, and it was a good feeling to hear all of the great feedback from our music." They earned the nickname "The Rider" by venue owner, Brandon Runion in early 2006.
After a long haul for two years straight, in 2007, The Rider on the White Horse decided to call it quits. After long discussions and debating, they decided the best choice was to end it at the time being. They hated to let such a good thing go, but knew it was for the best.
After a long two-year breakup, The Rider on the White Horse is back hitting it hard to the breakbeats and hard-hitting blast beats. The Rider on the White Horse is working on new material as well as bringing back the hits such as "Eternal Life," "Streets of Gold," and "The Lines of Decapitation." Stay tuned for upcoming shows in your area.
The Rider on the White Horse is sticking to metal with creative hooks in styles such as Black Metal, Thrash, and Experimental. With their new ideas and imagination, a fresh style of metal, once again, will be birthed into the local music scene.
Please, leave a comment and let The Rider on the White Horse know how much you love them and want them back. "We cannot wait to back out on the stage and see all of our fans and friendly faces...we have talked about getting back together for some time now, but we are actually putting it into action." Bryan says.
