<a href="http://s480.photobucket.com/albums/rr161/ootloomaster/?action=view¤t=full_tif3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr161/ootloomaster/full_tif3.jpg" border="0" alt="blustar"></a> Troubadelic was formed in Lodève at the end of 2003 by Mike Katin, who had recently moved from London, and Pascale Michaut from Paris. Mike writes the music and lyrics and plays acoustic and electric guitars while Pascale plays the bass. Singing together is what drew them together on a wintry night in St.Maurice de Navacelles on the Larzac plateau, the instant harmonising of the two strangers taking everyone by surprise. At first the repertoire was really folky, with an influence of early music like Gace Brulé and Guiot de Dijon. That's how the name came about, from Trouvères, or Troubadours. That and Mike's love of the psychedelic sound of 60's groups from both sides of the Atlantic – Gettit? In 2006 we put out the first CD – 'Troubadelic'. Loads of vocal harmonies with a mixture of stripped down arrangements as on 'Wooden Boats' and 'Rosemary Lane', and more produced tracks such as 'Glastonbury Days' and 'La Porte du Passé'. You can find the album on CD Baby and I tunes. A lot of good stuff got left off as well but we figured 12 tracks was a good number to keep. With us it's always been about songs, we love a great guitar break or whatever, but usually it's the song that makes the solo and not the other way round. As Brian Epstein once said, " The next big thing is a great song", it still seems to ring true some 40 years down the line! Since doing the CD the repertoire has evolved. I guess playing live has given us the impetus to become more rhythmic in our approach and it's always great to have people dancing.. ............................................................................................................... ............................................................................................................... Troubadelic est né en 2003 de la rencontre de Mike ( Londres) et Pascale (Paris). Mike compose, écrit et joue les guitares acoustique et électrique et Pascale joue de la basse. Chanter ensemble est ce qui les a rassemblés par une froide soirée d'hiver sur le plateau du Larzac, l'harmonie immédiate de leurs deux voix prenant tout le monde par surprise. Au début, le répertoire était très folk, influencé tant par la musique ancienne que par les sixties et c'est d'ailleurs de là que viendra le nom Troubadelic, une mixture de troubadour et de psychédélique. Ils ont enregistrés leur premier CD en 2006. Ensemble à la ville comme à la scène, ils continuent d'écrire, de donner des concerts et d'agrandir le répertoire qui devient plus rythmique, leur goût pour le rock pointe son nez avec l'envie de chauffer le public et de le faire danser. Troubadelic a un rêve, trouver un bus et partir sur les routes d'Europe, aller à la rencontre des gens, jouer partout... Avis aux amateurs!
