“But for the present age, which prefers the sign to the thing signified, the copy to the original, representation to reality, appearance to essence … truth is considered profane, and only illusion is sacred. Sacredness is in fact held to be enhanced in proportion as truth decreases and illusion increases, so that the highest degree of illusion comes to be the highest degree of sacredness.” -- Feuerbach, Preface to the second edition of The Essence of Christianity
A band that started as a joke.
A band name that is a joke.
An experiment in extended aural dissipation.
If you think you could use a professional recording, talk to us. If you already have one, then check us out for the future! :-) Thanks! www.jmrecordings.com
Yessir, I do. And it is quite a lovely place to work in a quite shitty town. Uhhhm, thanks for all the recommendations, I will surely try to remember to check these out. I actually have listened to From Indian Lakes before, which I don't entirely recall, but I'm sure I liked them..Jonah and the Whale also sounds very familar.. But yeah, I'll let you know when/if I finally look these up!
Hahah, yeah..thats one of the best things about this town, I have to admit. That dirty old basement has a way of feeling like home. Wow, that sounds cheesy.
Anyways, thats cool about Fresno..I have a feeling I could find a ton of other great bands if I tried. Maybe you could recommend some I might like? Do you ever visit our guitar center when you come to town?
Man, I'm really diggin your music .. i'm assuming it's a solo deal? It all sounds fantastic.. There always seems to be good shit streaming from Fresno, I've never been. What kind of business do you conduct here in the baker's field? tres magnific!
thinking about it? definitely. actually doing so, not as likely. I had to program every single sound individually, so It would take forever to learn the piano parts to play it live in the future. I could, however use backing tracks, which might work out, but I've never done that before and I haven't the slightest clue how to do it successfully.
Thank you for your kind words, I am really happy that you enjoy the album. I'm extra glad that your comment reminded me to hit up your profile and listen to "Tambourine Halos" and "Wolf Run," which I don't believe had been posted since last I checked. The songs sound great, as I was sure that they would. If you're ever planning on playing around Boston, please let me know so I can be front and center.
Hey Hey Hey I've noticed you didn't ask us about the great show that's coming to Fresno. I know we're annoying but we do it only because we know you'll be upset if you miss it. So talk to us.
In response to your recent twitter blog on drug use, I actually had a T-Shirt that said "Got Meth" and a picture of Gollum (Lord of the Rings) above it. Go figure, it was stolen from my possession when I left it in the dryer at the laundromat.
