Troy Cono is a highly acclaimed singer/songwriter/producer. He started his career as the lead singer for the American-based alternative rock band, Exit Left. As a songwriter and producer, he has worked with artists from around the world, including; Sugarland, Audioslave, Butch Walker, Angie Aparo, Josh Joplin, Vertical Horizon, and Sister Hazel. He has studied vocal performance under the former President of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Jan Smith (Sugarland, Usher, Rob Thomas, Collective Soul). He has also conducted studio recording classes for the Recording Academy in Atlanta, GA, as well as in many commercial studios throughout America.
Currently, Troy is the owner of Gyrofly Productions in Los Angeles, CA, where he works on songwriting and production projects with up and coming artists in the R&B, Pop, Latin, Hip Hop, and Rock genres. In June of 2007, he released his second full-length album entitled, Another Cold November. The 10-song rock masterpiece takes listeners on a journey through the entire spectrum of human emotions. Songs like “Frightening” and “Butterflies to Bombs” exude the anger felt by many who oppose their government’s current military strongholds; while “Some Fan” and “Frozen” hit home on a much softer side by brilliantly conveying the complexity of relationships.
The next chapter for Troy is to begin working on his first ever truly “solo” album; which is tentatively due out next Spring. In addition, Troy has been asked by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to become a cultural envoy, and will travel to many parts of the world spreading American culture through his music.
