Troy grew up on a farm, in a small country town called Traralgon, two hours outside of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. He grew up around music and often played in his father's band.
After years of learning guitar from his dad and playing in many different bands, Troy sought out professional guitar lessons from renowned guitar teacher, Tony Calabro, who Troy would study with for the next 8 years. However, it was in 1991 that Troy made a decision that would change his life. Against the advice of his friends and family, he quit his Fitter & Turner/Machinist apprenticeship to become a professional musician. His dream was to eventually move to America and study music.
In March of 1997, Troy moved to Hollywood, California to study music. California was expensive and he ran through his savings quickly. He worked any job he could get just to survive. Troy did everything from delivering flowers, auditioning for commercials, TV shows, film and modeling swim-wear, to even impersonating Austin Powers for his movie releases. Despite his struggles, Troy stayed in the US, while continually writing and working on his song writing craft. In 1998 Troy won Best Rock Performance at the Los Angeles Music Awards with artist Adrienne Frantz. Then joined the band of solo artist/Beach Boys musician, Phil Bardowell.
After that project ended, Troy joined an outfit with bay area singer Chaz Ross to form the band "Life Death & Giants," where he would team up with band members Sven Martin & Domen Vajevec. After a debut album release, Troy & Sven were approached by Interscope Records to play for a new up and coming act from Russia, called TATU. In 2003, TATU exploded into the international arena. Troy now supporting TATU played on various TV shows across America from Jay Leno, MAD TV, MTV's TRL LIVE to the memorable performance at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards.
While TATU took some time off at the end of 2003, Troy worked with numerous Artists including Kelly Clarkson & Enrique Igelsias. TATU released a new album in 2005 and the girls wanted Troy back to join them. Today Troy continues to tour the world with TATU, playing to audiences of thousands, while continuing to write and record his own original music.
Troy is currently in the studio working on his debut album due out very soon. First debut release JAN 29th 2008
