About me:
Troy Night Out is a monthly arts & cultural event taking place on the last Friday of every month. The vision for the event can be summed up with the phrase: “Look, Touch, Taste, Hear”. People are invited people to come to downtown Troy to
Look and see all the wonderful art and creativity happening here at over 30 participating galleries and art spaces, to
Touch all the fabulous offerings at the many new retail shops, to
Taste the wonderful foods being served at the many new and established Troy restaurants, and to finish the evening off by
Hearing music at any of the great local music venues. With the participation and support of so many businesses downtown, along with the City of Troy, the Arts Center of the Capital Region, id29, Lotus Screenprinting, the Metroland, Mooradians Lofts, and the many active residents who have gotten involved, Troy Night Out is going to become a regular destination for arts, culture, shopping and entertainment in the Capital District. As local artist John Connors said, “Come to Troy, come to life!”
Come on on out - the last Friday of every month from 5 - 9 PM.

Fulton Street Gallery - a sister's loving tribute
........
TROY - Fulton Street Gallery will be the site of something special this coming Friday as part of Troy Night Out.
Local singer songwriter Erin Harkes is performing a musical tribute dedicated to her older sister, Elizabeth Harkes. "I will do songs that remind me of her, without making myself too upset," she said. "Happy memories."
Elizabeth lost her life to a drunk driver in Colorado at age 32 on June 14th. Said Erin of the loss "I'm absolutely devastated, and I miss her so much that there's a gaping hole in my heart, soul and life that will never be filled. I'm feeling like a shell of someone I used to be. Though I know it will never fully heal, I'm hoping some of this will dissipate eventually."
I knew Elizabeth; she was a dedicated supporter of local music, especially that of her sister Erin, in whatever form it took, from solo to duo to her band, Erin Harkes and the Rebound.
I always enjoyed sitting with Elizabeth watching Erin play. Elizabeth and Erin would occasionally banter during the live set as if they were the only ones in the room. When asked to explain the conversations, Erin replied: "We had inside jokes that even when explained to outsiders weren't funny, but there was a connection that no one in the universe would understand.
