When you listen to Troy Olsen's music you can hear right away that he's the real thing. He was raised in rural Southern Arizona, got his first guitar when he was twelve and taught himself to play by listening to everything from Dwight Yoakam to Bruce Springsteen. As a teenager, Troy started playing in bands and has been playing music ever since. Troy's music has taken him all over the world, but you can hear the smokey roots in his voice and songs come from a million nights in the road houses of the Southwest......... A chance meeting with Linda Ronstadt in a recording studio in 1998 led to a publishing deal with Windswept Music in Los Angeles. In 2001, Troy made his first album in Los Angeles with members of Dwight Yoakam's band, including some legendary players like Scott Joss, Skip Edwards, Jay Dee Manness, and James Intveld. His album got great reviews in magazines such as Country Music Magazine. In 2003, after moving to Nashville, he released another independent album, titled Troy Olsen which he recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios. The album really showcased his growth as a singer and songwriter and includes a duet with Kid Rock. With a touring schedule that found him doing countless dates and opening for almost every major country star over the last ten years, both of Troy's independent albums sold incredibly well. These days Troy spends all his time in his Nashville studio writing songs and further developing his unique sound. His songs continue to gain attention and have been recorded by country music superstars Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, and Chris Cagle. With a major label record deal in his sights, the future looks bright for this hard working Arizona boy.................
