Starting out as Void in 1993 the duo of Dan Woodman and Derek Shiel transformed into TR Storm in 1995. Using the philosophy of improvisation, a project initially experimenting with drum machines triggering analogue synthesizers, writing loops and fills then structuring each set spontaneously. Whilst creating a sonic environment that is fresh and alive with the intention of inducing energetic psychoactive trance states.
Performing at many raves and clubs in Melbourne, Dan & Derek have been found tweaking and peaking at places such as: Bezerk, Strange, Earthcore, Electro Static, Technofest, Earthdance, Psychic Harmony, Global Warming, Filter, Zeitgeist, Rev on Grev, Cyber Trek, Mindamaze, Every Picture Tells a Story (Byron Bay & Melbourne), Electric, Tranquility Bass (Syd), Summer Dreaming, Cyber City, Refresh, underground warehouse partys and Global Village amongst many others.
They have played alongside such names as: Voitek, Zen Paradox, Sven Vath, Juan Atkins, Reflex Allstars, Baby Ford, DJ T1000 & Stacey Pullen to name a few. With releases on: Zeitgeist IF Compilations 1& 3, Blue Sector Compilation, Earthcore CD , Greenant CD, and Every Picture CD's the magic of the TR Storm sound which can best be experienced live.
