You stay up for 16 hours. He stays up for days on end.
You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him. He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded. Take a close look in the vehicle, see the soldier sitting there while that piece of crap throws gas on the fire.
You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the broken bodies lying around him.
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.
You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

About me: Dad of four great kids, 3 girls and 1 boy. Yes i'm a GP as my oldest gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in Aug 07. Love to read as knowledge is power. Prior service Marine 4 yrs. Semper-fi Devildogs. and 6 yrs. Army National Guard. Hooaah. Workin for the big camp Atterbury,Indiana. ok small Atterbury, but we get ya mobed, and yes demobed. Is it boring there? Well...Ahhhh.. YEH it's boring with all the billies running around talikin crazy, datin their sisters and brothers and can you say dur ta dur pecial..,, well you get the idea. Big time troop supporter. For really real ya all, GOD bless the troops, be safe over there fellahs, see ya on the demobe. Big sports fan. At the end of the night a Marine leaves a bar.
Outside he sees a nun. He walks over to her and slaps her in the face. Then he punches her in the stomach and knocks her over.
He proceeds to kick her several times and when he's done he bends down to her and says, "Not as tough as a Marine, are you Batman?"
