A lot of the inspiration comes simply from the setting we record in and general inner feelings- there are no logical attempts to accurately reference or emulate other artists.
Trudy was formed this spring in a dark room on a northeastern business estate as an ongoing experimental project for three singers. The music is improvised and usually recorded in a live situation with no post-production.
The format of Trudy at this point is very nonspecific, so that we can play around with whatever instrumentation or technical setup we like, or invite other players. Currently we are mainly vocal; but Jamie plays (often bowed) electric guitar and Mike the trumpet or euphonium.
We tend to find the process very cathartic, fun, and freeing.
