These shops are run by good independant people who want to break away and not settle for the faceless, coperate, HMVs of this world, even if you don't buy our stuff there, go in and support them, they're run by people like you for people like you and they need people like you to survive!
We are TrueBeat; a ska band from London who effortlessly mix bluebeat, 2-tone and modern ska to create a truly unique sound. "well worth keeping an eye out for"Do the Dog Skazine
On the 15th of October we will be releasing our debut album ‘Back to Square One’ on CD (the album will also be available from all major download sites from November the 15th). The album was recorded at Big Tone Studios in Manchester with acclaimed ska and punk producer TimG (Sonic Boom Six, Catch-it Kebabs, MTV Mash-ups) and features ten tracks of adrenaline fuelled hi-octane guitar driven ska with lyrics “on par with those of The King Blues or The Streets"Art and Soul Magazine. We are a touring band with between two and four gigs a week all over the country and are planning more of the same to promote ‘Back to Square One’ not to mention reviews in countless magazines and fanzines and radio airplay (selected tracks from the album have already been played on over twenty UK radio stations in preparation for the release of the album).
The band started as the brainchild of Tom Tattersall (guitar and vocals) and Ian Morris (bass and backing vocals) who have been building up their live experience since the tender age of 14 in local bands. In late 2008 the two musicians decided to try and write some ska songs together and, pleased at what came out, recorded an early demo. The songs on the demo were used as audition pieces to find a drummer and rhythm guitarist to complete the line-up. The process didn’t take too long and after one evening auditioning, Toby Gutmann and Devon Joubert were drafted in on drums and rhythm guitar respectively.
Soon after, the band recorded their debut EP ‘Words of Wisdom’ (almost exclusively on Tom’s laptop, in his bedroom) which was ready for general release in time for their first gig on January the 10th 2009. The EP was taken out of circulation in September of the same year to make way for the new release ‘Back to Square One’ after racking up sales of over 800 copies sold at gigs. TrueBeat have performed at over sixty shows between January and October 2009 supporting big names like Bad Manners, The Beat, J B Conspiracy and The Catch-it Kebabs and have built up a loyal fanbase (demonstrated by the fact they have sold over 200 TrueBeat t-shirts since they became available in late May) The boys don’t plan on letting up at all!
So, if you love ska, give us a listen and get your hands on a copy of ‘Back to Square One’ and if you hate ska, do the same because as self-confessed ska disliking journalist Nick, from A Short Fanzine About Rocking says; "Crikey, this is actually quite fun!"

As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see don’t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!
