Here's to 2008!

"Logic and swagger share the same apartment, but they never see each other because their schedules are so different. And, let me tell you, logic doesn’t pay the bills or do any dishes. Also, swagger is the one who is always putting a necktie on the door, if you know what I mean."

Mets are reportedly interested in Jack taschner.

Damn we blow today 10-1.

Bonds would be a perfect fit for the other Yankees. With all those other scumbags, they'd be the most hated team in baseball.

Would i watch the Yankees more?

Absolutely!

The reunion is technically for retired Giants. BLB is not officially retired.

Heard Hank Steinbrenner is interested now in Barry (from a an article printed out the 24th):

Guess that a-hole didn't get the GM Collusion memo.

Just read a rumor that Tampa Bay might want Tyler Walker!!! They also are in need of a Rightfieder (can you say Winn)Both of which have already played for TB. Which is cool cuz i live an hour & 15 away from Tropicana field.
I don't wish Walker for them, but I'm a giants fan first so I'm all for it!!!

Isn't Cain the first to throw a complete game this season??
Looking forward to the pitching matchups vs. the Dbacks
and the Matt Cain Bobblehead!

I hear you JD, but it's also good to know, that sometimes 1-run is all Cain needs to back him up.

Thankfully we were able to sweep, after gettting swept. Brooms out for the 2nd straight time this season against Washington.

i would much rather see us sign someone like texiera long term who seems to be more of a cornerstone hitter and also someone would would not be taking an outfield spot....our outfield is pretty crowded as it is it seems and in my eyes is set for the future with lewis, rowand, and schierholtz...maybe even bowker
Jess

Jul 23 2008 10:28 PM

2 in a row at home? do my eyes decieve me? haha GO GIANTS!!

In Burrell's defense, he's been an outstanding hitter throughout his entire career. He would improve our offense considerably.

A 2-year deal would be acceptable, IMO. He's a Bay Area native and the Giants need a hitter of his ilk. Aaron Rowand (of course) will be advocating for his services. The only West Coast team Burrell would waive his NTC for is SF- so I think he'll certainly be considered by our front office once the season is over.

I heard a rumor that we're interested in Hank Blalock. Ugh. Do not want.

Jul 23 2008 12:28 PM

What? The McCoven haven't said anything about Burrell. Pat's defense, declining age, and his want for a lengthy and costly contract raises a red flag to me.

Someone wrote a nice lengthy post on where our old fogeys can go and compared them to certain team's needs. I like the Winn & Tashner idea for Josh Fields of the White Sox.

BTW, Colby Rasmus got injured last night. That means Nate will be taking his spot on the Olympic national team.
Congrats Nate!

why are all of these people on mccovey chronicles talking about signing burrell, am i the only one that remembers nobody wanting to even trade for him last year.....im sick of these players having a decent year the striking it rich in free agency
