About me:
Rejecting the theory that a gentleman is "someone who knows how to play the trumpet, but doesn't", Yossi Klement has served as Associate Principal Trumpet with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Substitute Principal with the Israel Sinfonietta, Principal with the Jupiter Symphony at Lincoln Center, Principal with the New York Metamorphoses Orchestra and Principal with the Lyric Mountain Festival Orchestra in Pittsburgh. He has also performed with the Israel Philharmonic, the Berlin Ballet, the Albany Symphony, the Palisades Brass Quintet, and various ballet and opera orchestras. Yossi has performed around the world and given masterclasses and recitals in New York, Singapore, and Jerusalem, among other locales. He was on the faculty of the Rubin Academy and Conservatory of Music, and taught at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the Deerfield Academy.
A graduate of The Juilliard School, Yossi was a fellow at the Waterloo Music Festival at Princeton University. His principal teachers were Mark Gould, William Vacchiano, Edward Treutel, Robert Nagel and Bernard Adelstein.
Among his many other interests are meditation, yoga, photography, vegetarian cooking, hiking and writing his upcoming book on brass technique. He lives in the Amherst, MA area where he teaches trumpet and horn.
A seventeenth generation descendant of Rabbi Judah Loew, the Maharal of Prague, Yossi has terrific, highly accomplished parents, a brilliant, beautiful sister and three precocious, adorable nieces.
Who I'd like to meet:
Everyone! I'm especially interested in corresponding with other musicians, fellow members of Mensa, my extended family in the Art of Living. www.artofliving.org.
