it has been a long journey.
history does not document the details; two young brothers, strange towns, different lives; then many year later; a coincidence of lifelines, a miracle of fate.
formed in 1997 during the 90s, trunkdog’s first foray into world touring took in briarwood avenue, bury st edmunds to name but all of the venues.
adopting a comedy style with influences as far flung as chas ’n’ dave, peters and lee, and saxon, their unique sound soon travelled across the road to the odd-numbered houses as well.
following the overnight success of this tour, the band retreated to the studio for eight years where very little actually happened.
in 2005, owing to an administrative error in an ghinlavian raffle, the band was forced to actually play something in front of real people. the legend returned.
and then in 2007, the band played one of its many rare appearances with turn at the 2007 bury fringe festival; the sell-out show "bark". this work was heralded with unparalleled critical acclaim and has come to be regarded by many artists worldwide as a turning point in western musical-comedy, or something.
now the calendar page has turned again and we find ourselves at the 2008 bury fringe festival; and so, having been separated at birth, the two heijaborder brothers reunite once again to present "the complementary hooter show"; new songs, old favourites and fresh comedy to kick off the trunkdog 2008 world-tour, as the boys make yet another spirited attempt at fame and fortune.
I have just listened to the songs on your page, and i must admit the songs are kewl. Though sorry to say they're not quite my thing, however i love the song "Gathered"
I do like to see new material and talent, so I might be able to attend to one of the shows.
As a matter of fact I just got done listening to your music. It is funny liked the fish blues song. I will tell some of my friends and see if I can't get a few to listen as well.
Saw the complimentary hooter show last night...... Brilliant! Lewis & Jess are now officially fans of Trunkdog!(As are Wayne & I) Excellent show, the lullaby had me crying with laughter. Please put that on here so we can hear it again. Love Cath xxx
Thanks for the info, unfortunately im in Australia which is a bit far from my home town at the moment. I think an 800 pound round trip is out of the question at the moment :D
