Horned NecroCannibals - a joke that went too far…
The Horned NecroCannibals (Rogatye Trupoedy) was formed in Moscow in 2001 first as a joke death metal band by Nekrozaurus and Exhumator for the sole purpose of shredding, growling, consuming immense amount of beer and good ole’ fun altogether.
The gimmick behind the act were the online polls on MetalKings.ru with the basic idea of shaping a death metal band that would be 100% interactive. Through polls visitors of that site would pick the name for the band itself, the aliases for all band-members, the title of the debut record, etc., etc., etc. The best part about the whole thing was that no one actually believed it was going to be a real band until the first song was posted online.
The boys first hit the stage at the now defunct R-Club in Moscow on September 1, 2002 instantly overtaking the folks present with their tongue-in-cheek, yet very solid death metal, clad in ‘blood’-stained medical overcoats, and a fuck-off attitude. But that was just the start.
On August 16, 2003 HNC release their debut record via CD-Maximum titled ‘Bitches, Sex, and Ptomaine’. On the very same day the band presented the record to a 3,000+ crowd warming up for Finland’s Children of Bodom in the legendary DK Gorbunova hall.
From this point on it becomes clear that the joke has really gone too far. Over the next couple of years the band plays live mostly in Moscow, but also travels to St. Pete, Yekaterinburg, Kursk, Belgorod, as well as Vinnitsa (Ukraine) where they opened for Pungent Stench. Throughout this period the boys were also lucky enough to share the stage with the likes of Dark Funeral (Sweden), Impaled Nazarene (Finland), Mystic Circle (Germany) as well as a bunch of local acts such as Hieronymus Bosch, Seducer’s Embrace, Hatecraft, Spaint, Morrah and a whole lot of others.
Some time in 2005 the band starts composing and rehearsing for its sophomore record called ‘Circus of Sins: Enter the Vices’ – a concept album to dwell on the not so novel subject of the seven deadly sins as seen in the context of a travelling circus. The composing and recording process takes another three years to complete (oh yes, we are slow ;), but the material is finally ready for release in the Spring of 2009.
In the meantime, on December 7, 2008 The Horned Necrocannibals release a five-song EP called The Kvlt and Troo and Eevil and Grimm and Nekro EP. Right now the band is working their collective arses off to get a new official site up and running, kick-start a forum and finish the artwork for the soon-to-be-released second album.

2001 – Band formed (initial line-up: Necrozaurus – vokillz; Spinegnaw – bass; Exhumator – guitarz
Skullcrusher – drums) 09.01.2002 - First gig - R-Club Moscow 08.16.2003 – Debut Album “Bitches Sex & Ptomaine” - comes out on CD-Maximum 11.29.2003 – Dew to personal and musical differences Skullcrusher leaves the band, to concentrate on whatever other endeavors he had at the time… Soulreaper (18) joins the fold as the new kit-man. 02.2004 – The Necrocannibals record a cover of a Russian traditional folk song “Valenki” (Felt Boots) and film a video of it, which was supposed to air on one of the federal TV channels, which (surprise) never happened in reality. The video still remains in the vault awaiting for a proper time to be released. 2004 – mid 2005 – all through the time the band is playing gigs, including the one with Impaled Nazarene, Mystic Circle, and Dark Funeral, and continues writing the new material – a process which takes a lot longer than expected. 09.2005 – Soulreaper leaves the band due to the good ole’ personal differences. The band starts seeking a new drummer, which proves to be a lot harder than expected. Finally the Necrocannibals opt for a genius of a guy called Andrey Ischenko – who baptizes himself MicroCannibal in this new and friendly environment. 01-02.2006 – the guys are finally ready to enter the studio and record their sophomore effort. Fall of 2006 - Spinegnaw also leaves the fold due to musical differences - that is to say, lost all interest in all things death and metal, and is now tapping into some jazz ;) No bad blood tho :) October 2006 - Veenthorogue (ex-Tilaris) joins the band on bass, followed by an old time friend and Exhumator's ex-bandmate Yazykasty who become's HNC's second guitarist. The band continues slowly with very few shows (all of them in Moscow), sticking to the vow not to play live much until the new album is released. December 7, 2008 - following a lot of discussions and contemplation - the quintet releases an EP - appropriately titled "the Kvlt and Troo and Eevil and Grimm and Nekro EP" - presenting it to the public in Moscow on the same in 'Plan B' club.
