About me:
Chris Serrano was born in 70's back when music was live, and natural. Being born in that time exposed his early years to the sounds of funk, soul, disco, mariachi, rock, and anything else that was playing in his parents eight track player. Those early sounds penetrated deep into the child's brain, and were embedded there. This created an ear for all music, as well as, the talent . In his younger years Chris studied music in school. Starting in the forth grade he learned to read music and play various instruments. This became a routine part of his childhood life. When Chris was in high school, he decided to try something new, the turntable. Hip hop music was Chris' passion, so learning to play his favorite tracks on vinyl was only natural and he was an instant success. In the mid 90's Chris was an unknown playing mobile gigs, and house parties before realizing that he had a passion for dance music. His early days as a hip-hop DJ greatly helped Chris quickly adapt to the 90's rave house dance scene. Chris landed his first steady gig along side long time friend DJ Joseph Jojo Torres, at a very successful East Bay party called SugarLounge. It was held inside Slates Lounge. Not stopping there, Chris collaborated with Promoter Sam Ramirez. It was at that time that he was made resident at Turbo Sundays and Zen held at the W hotel. Chris was well on his way to becoming well known in the dance scene. With his signature technical mixing style Chris has played in San Francisco's' most well known venues including TheEnd Up, Ibiza Hotel, Paradise Lounge, and many others. This Includes a host of after hours clubs and underground locations in the city.
In 2004 Chris teamed up with friend Jojo Torres to begin their own promotion crew and party. This was the beginnings of what is now called TRUSOUL. After a successful collaboration, Chris and JoJo were asked to host a weekly web cast show. It was broadcast live from one of San Francisco's only vinyl record shops dedicated to underground music: InHouse records. In addition Chris has played along side many of San Francisco's living legends such as, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Davis Harness just to name a few.
Armed with a wealth of experience Chris is ready to take it to the next level. It is only a matter of time until you see the name Chris Serrano next to original tracks of his own composition.
