Trust In Chariots is a Layton based rock band that formed in late 2005 under the name Civil Difference, with vocalist Ben Scothern and guitarist Matt Gibb. Playing covers of their favorite bands, their hobby quickly grew into a love and passion for the music. Clayton Scothern joined soon after and three began writing their own original material together. After several rehearsals and a couple of original songs, it was clear that Clayton would become an integral part of the band.
Recognizing their unique chemistry, they immediately began writing more songs and searching for a bass player to round out the sound. After searching for a short while, with no real results, the three were left wanting. Enter brother-in-law, Mike Metcalf! Mike is an accomplished pianist and although he had never picked up a bass guitar prior to joining the band, Mike came up to speed quickly and was able to add depth that had previously been missing from the music. With the pieces finally in place, the band was born! After playing several shows in 2005 and 2006, the band took a short hiatus in 2007 to take care of a few personal and family matters.
Resurfacing with a new name and a new perspective, TRUST IN CHARIOTS brings a refreshing hard rock/alternative sound to the local Utah scene.
For the loyal fans that have followed us through the Civil Difference days, we still have the same high energy songs and blistering guitar licks (courtesy of Matt Gibb) that you've come to expect, but we've added a few new originals to the set as well. This has been an amazing ride thus far and we hope you'll join us as we continue to hit the streets and share our passion with you. From harder, riffy rock songs like Get Out and Burning Me, to softer alternative ballads like Fallen and Walk Away, we've got a little of everything. We'll see you at the show!

Thank you for the friendship, the comments and the love. We appreciate it very much. We have new music that means a lot to us. Hopefully it can mean something to you too. Let us know how (and if) you like it and anything else you want to say. Thanks for the love and support. We love you all too. The music is on our page, and if you really like it you could add it to your myspace player, and that would help a ton. Thanks, and take care.
Live Recordings!!! Studio 9 now offers Live Recordings for only $300. Check out www.myspace.com/avstudio9 listen to a few samples of live and studio work. Also check out the gear list. This will be a multi track recording up to 18 separate inputs. High quality mics, and preamps. Turn around time can be as soon as a week. Great for demos. Thank you for adding us as your friend. Big things will be happening SOON at Onion Street. We'll keep you posted on our progress and let you know when we are up and ready to roll.
.. Hi there Civil Difference first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
I look forward to hearing more from you guys. Can't wait to see you live again when you have a Saturday show,or if I can find a day job I'll to to as many shows as I can.
Sorry about your guitar Matt, were you able to get a new one this week? I can't believe the sound dude was such a dumb-ass when he said you "dropped" the guitar, like you'd ever do that.
