Truth Tells Lies hailing from Guildford, Surrey can back up all the hype with a combination of unique, soaring melodies and city leveling breakdowns and intense live shows.
Formed in July 2007, after various members met through mutual friends, they’ve spent the last 11 months playing as often as possible all over the UK, the extremely high pedigree of this band is there for all to see. Their rated, energetic live shows, and the current trend in the UK’s love for underground metal is something that has helped them, in just under a year, to become one of the most talked about unsigned bands on the underground metal scene.
Influences from bands like Born of Osiris and Emmure to Misery Signals and Architects, but they incorporate lots of different sounds into their music subsequently bringing knowledge to the table and a knack for writing melody driven compositions whilst incorporating fresh ideas to form their unique sound. They have been described as ‘Technical Melodic Metal with Hardcore influences'. Their original material, accomplished musicianship and infectious enthusiasm on stage has lead to numerous well known supporting slots including in their history, Eternal Lord, War from a Harlots Mouth (Germany) and Annotations of an Autopsy plus many more.
With their debut E.P. coming out late 2008 it promises to fuse unconventional compositions with the raw flow of devastating guitar lines, complimented with melodic overtones and strong lyrical content, which will prove to be something to look out for live and otherwise on the UK underground scene.
With an intense tour schedule booked for later this year with Metal Hammer nominees Trigger the Bloodshed bodes well for the Surrey boys and recently hooking up an endorsement deal with the guys at SJC Custom Drums, things are looking promising to say the least.
2008 will see the band continuing to spread their music, relentlessly gigging and touring in preparation for their E.P. release. Do not miss this.
