Myspace is the new radio—a radio that’s not owned by monopolies and money.
I used to wonder what happened to the 'good' music, it certainly wasn’t on the radio; it moved to Myspace.
Some of the best music I’ve heard has been on Myspace.
I happened upon the voice of Angela Mccluskey—it was like the sound of a mink stole dragging along a wet city street under amber streetlight at 3:00 am. It was lonely; it was warm, like the first sip of scotch. Mostly, it was timeless. I forgot where I was and only thought of where I wanted to be.
Along with Lili Haydn, Paul Cantelon and Martin Tillman, Mccluskey covers an eclectic range of songs written by Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, David Bowie and Duke Ellington. These songs take on new life in the 2000 release of Curio--a collective effort featuring some of today's finest muscians.
With kind permission from Angela Mccluskey, I have uploaded some of those songs.
