Aw Eric, congrats! I'm sure that you passed with flying colors! Congrats in advance. Training has slowed, I have been biking/walking and such, but dont get to make it to the pool that often, its just a tad too far away, and especially with it getting darker earlier, my evenings are totally consumed already. Everything else is cool. Just got back from Tulsa, for a conference (not really worth the trip in my opinion). How are you and the family?
Congrats on the exams; if it's anything like Maryland you'll wait 6 months for the final results. Hopefully it was an easy one like pre-design or something:) I've been putting most of mine off as well. I fell in the bastard child backhole of the ARE 3.0/ARE 4.0 Transition. I'll be taking the last 5 shortly. I'm just going to schedule them back to back and get em done. If I fail... I'll atleast know what to study; especially since there is no material for 4.0.
Anyways, the market here is fairing good compared to the rest of the counrty. My partner and I went out on our own 2 months ago. It's been a struggle, but I wouldn't have done it any other way.
We just landed a bunch of good design build relationships with a few big name contractors in the area. We're hoping for a large mixed use & multifamily housing project in a few months.
Since steel prices just fell about 300% i think we'll start to see the construction industry make an upswing in about 9-15 months. Tough to really say though.
It's hard work man, I can't imagine trying to study with two little ones in the house! I think you are doing great! Hope all is well for you & yours. Talk soon!

I understand your issue. I start the "proverbial climb" later this year.. You will find me under the covers, covered in klenexx nursing a bottle of vodka in one hand and a bottle of valium in the other. That will be about the only party I'll be able to tolerate!
