Formed in early 2005, The Social Theory quickly became one of the hottest rising acts out of Hamilton's underground music scene. Despite a year and a half of writing music/playing shows, a sold out CD Release show for the debut EP "Let's Set This In Motion" and rave reviews from fans and fellow groups, the band went through a difficult time personally and creatively and the machine that was The Social Theory slowly began to shut down and fall apart; as a result the band officially broke up in the summer of 2006.
Fans thought the 5 individuals who make up The Social Theory would never play together again live on stage and even some of the band members themselves were hesitant to even consider reuniting to play the songs that brought them the celebrity in Hamilton's scene. However after playing in new side projects and exploring other genres and styles of music the 5 members realized that together they achieved something great and a reunion was needed.
And so now, 2007, The Social Theory returns to the Hamilton music scene one more time bringing with them their unique style of post-harcore, pop punk and a renewed passion for playing music together.
