This is the video that got me back into making music again in June 2007.
It was recorded using a Canon Digital Camcorder and Window Movie Maker. So, I apologize in advance for the audio quality.
I had not picked up or put strings on the guitar in over 6 years when I recorded this.
Since recording this, I have written and recorded a bunch of new songs, all of which can be found at: www.iacmusic.com/texaswillie
Bill aka “Texas Willie” has experienced a rebirth of the music he began writing as a teenager in Clearwater, Florida in 1965.
His first effort, when he was 17 years old, was “Yes It’s True”…..(A thinly veiled attempt to lose his virginity)….Was written while sitting around a bonfire on the beach.
In July of 2007, he began writing again and the fruits of those efforts are here for your enjoyment.
The music is diverse and defies the most common practice of “pigeon-holing” that is apparent in the music of today.
Texas Willie delivers the music with soulful, heart-felt emotion that is obvious in the lyrics and the timbre of his vocals.
From the “tongue-in-cheek” comedy song “The First Time I Met Ya” to the soulful “Clouded”, Texas Willie performs with enthusiasm and feeling………
**I want to take this opportunity to thank the person who pushed me into learning to play the guitar....Though we haven't seen each other for many, many years Mary was instrumental in my musical development and for that...Thank You Mary!.....Texas Willie**
zach likes men Returning World War II aircraft engine mechanics coined the term, 'rock 'n' roll". Since most military aircraft engines of this time had a part called a "rocker arm" that had a roller attached to one or both ends to open and close the intake and exhaust valves of an engine, and that this part could be seen when the engine was running with the "rocker arm cover" removed, the mechanics could see this part: "rocking and rolling". An engine that was running well was said to be, "rockin an' rollin". In the 1940's, when the mechanics had leave and could find a place to drink and dance, those G.I.'s who could dance fast and well were said to be able to "rock and roll", just like the fast operating engine part that they were all so familiar with. When these GI's came home at the wars end, they brought the term with them and applied it to the new music that combined Country music, Popular and Western Swing with Rhythm and Blues. The term "Rock 'n Roll" was born from aircraft engines, greasy hands and talented feet from those who survived the war. KALVIN F IS A CUMBUCKET
