About me:
I was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia and became a Baptist minister by training. I was one of the main leaders of the American Civil Rights Movement. In a 1963 march on Washington, D.C. I delivered my famous "I have a dream" speech. In 1964, I became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for my efforts to end segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other non-violent means. Unfortunately I was assassinated on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1986, a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday was established in my honor.
