| About Take The Mic |
What We Do:
Take The Mic is Student group at the Univeristy of Delaware designed to allow its members to book independent shows on campus. Our main objective is to apply a D.I.Y. ethic to what we do, meaning that we give the tools and resources for students to things themselves instead of waiting for someone else to do the work. We keep our shows cheap (almost always under 5$) and accessible for both Students and non students. We also do non music events such as film screenings and workshops.
Do not post sexist ,racist, or homophobic material on our page. Part of what first attracted me to punk rock and DIY in the first place was that it was above such backwards ideas. Safe to say any bands promoting such attitudes stand little chance of playing a show.

The Ewing Room, Rodeny Room, Collins Room and Bacchus Theatre are all located in The Perkins Center which is located at 325 Academy st Newark DE 19716
Directions:
to The Perkins Center
I-95 South:
Take exit 1B. Follow South College Avenue (896) North toward campus. Continue past the stadium and cross over the bridge. At the first set of traffic lights, make a right onto East Park Place. From Park Place, make your first left onto Academy Street. The Perkins Student Center will be on your right. Just before it, you should see a parking garage where you may park.
I-95 North:
Take exit 109B. Follow Elkton Road North-East all the way down toward campus. When it narrows to one lane and curves to the right it will become Delaware Avenue. Stay in the right lane on Delaware Avenue and make a right at the third set of lights onto Academy Street. After you have passed through a stop sign, the Perkins Student Center will be on your left. Just after it, you should see a parking garage where you may park.
