Glittery texts by .. Spreading awareness about Trichotillomania. Achieving my quest to get at least 25 states to award me a Proclamation for Trichotillomania Awareness Week! (October 1-7) So far I have 3 Proclamations; South Carolina, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Getting my 3 books published; "One Last Try" (which is about my life with TTM), and "Where's Your Hair Molly Claire?", which is a funny childrens' book about a little girl with TTM, trying to overcome her classmates questions about her hair loss. I made a doll that goes along with the book, with hair that detaches, to show the physical effects of TTM. My 3rd book is called "The Turkey Thief" which is a cute book about a group of children worried about a farmers' turkeys disappearing. It's a must read, especially for Thanksgiving! Those who suffer from TTM and those taking the time out to educate and spread awareness about TTM. I want to thank the people at our local Merle Norman wig store who are so wonderful and understanding towards us. TLC Inc (www.trich.org) and all of the salons, online and local hair/wig stores-you guys mean a lot to us. And of course most importantly, our Lord.
About me: --For starters, this site is a support group for those who live with Trichotillomania, have friends or family members with it, or are interested in knowing more about Trichotillomania. This is a very sensitive topic to those who suffer from it, so I ask that only those interested in Trichotillomania and gaining friends who can relate to you post a message or friend request. . .this is not a "pick-up" site, but a Support Group.-- My name is Sandra, I am 30 years old and have lived with Trichotillomania (also know as "TTM" or "Trich")for over 20 years. Trichotillomania is a neurobiological disorder in which those who suffer from it pull out their own hair. Many of us feel ashamed, embarrassed, depressed, out of control, and especially alone. . .but we are not alone. I started a support group in Fargo, North Dakota. Hey you guys! I am so excited to hear many of you are having PF days and also I am so proud of those trying, it isn't easy. I want to let you in on something I am working on right now. I am going to the Hair/Beauty schools in my area to educate their students about TTM! I am so excited. I am hoping to not only spread awareness, but also provide a safe haven for us with more stylists for us to turn to! Sorry I din't wish you a happy birthday a few days ago hun but HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! You wrote me not to long ago and I never got the chance to message. I am doing fine unfortunately my trich is beating me but I have faith that I will overcome! Hope to hear from you!
Hey everyone, hope everything is going great your way! Congrats to all of you accomplishing pull-free days!! tough. I am into month 7 now (219 days) pull-free!! My hair is growing back! I am shaving it right now, so I am nervous about growing it out again. . .but I do know that ANY pull-free days is a HUGH accomplishment for us, so I can't complain. HEY EVERYONE!! IF NEONE HAS SUGGESTIONS FOR BEIN PULL FREE PLEASE MESSAGE ME. IT STARTED AGAIN A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT I HAD A BABY A WEEK AGO AND I DIDNT KNOW IT COULD BUT IT GOT WORSE, AND MY HAIR IS ALREADY ALMOST GONE. THANK GOD FOR BANDANAS!!!

hi, how are you doing? sorry i have messaged for so long. anything with trich i should kno? ohhh i keep forgetting, have you herd of hair powder? it covers the bald spots and makes it look like u have hair there. i love it!!! i will take a pic and post it in a bulletin by the end of this week. here is my new sign off: NO PULL, HAVE A DAY HAIRFULL!!!!!!
