YATTA!
Congratulations, you're Hiro Nakamura! You're a high-minded idealist, a huge nerd, and you enjoy being a unique and special person. Your combination of positive personality traits makes you impossibly lovable, and your energy and enthusiasm are absolutely infectious. Your dedication to any mission you take on, in addition to your cheerful sense of humor, are qualities anyone should be proud to have.
Your best quality: Spunk
Your worst quality: You are too cute. Some people may not be able to handle it.
Authors encompass a greater sampling of work: Douglas Rushkoff, Robert Anton Wilson (rest in pasta), Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Evan Dorkin, Jhonen Vasquez, Jim Mahfood, Madeleine L'Engle, Neal Stephenson, Italo Calvino, Stanislaw Lem, Woody Allen, Douglas Adams, Thomas Pynchon, William S. Burroughs, Carla Speed McNeil, Jonathan Lethem, Neil Gaiman, Herman Hesse, Hunter S. Thompson, C.S. Lewis, Garth Ennis, and so on
Heroes
Doug Rushkoff (for his usually sunny vision of human potential, even my own), Evan Dorkin (for his usually cloudy vision of human idiocy, and for inspiring me to want to work in this ass-backwards industry), Bill Hicks (died for your sins, and your sins, and YOUR sins, but especially his own), George Carlin (Joe Pesci rest you, you font of honesty), Alan Moore (truly the magus), Grant Morrison (Moore's closest competition), Danny Elfman (only a few musicians can straddle punk-pop to orchestral arrangement) and the endless procession of martyrs, known and forgotten, who don't take no shit from the so-called high and mighty; we salute you.
About me: I'm a cartoonist, with my first minicomic on the stands, and the self-anthology book LICENSE FARM shooting for a third quarter 2008 release into the wild. As a person I feel I'm someone worth knowing and, dare I suggest it, knowing well and, in certain cases, knowing biblically. I have my peculiarities; some people enjoy them, others can't cope. Your results may vary, but understand that no impressions exist in a vacuum. I do my part to bridge the gap, but I'm not going to build the whole damn thing myself.
And now for some ready-made, frighteningly accurate self-analysis:
..TR>
Outcast Genius 56 % Nerd, 65% Geek, 52% Dork
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.
Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).
Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.
Who I'd like to meet: You know who I'd really like to meet? The girl from the future with the half-purple, half-green hair and the crazy spandex from the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure who I fixated upon when I was a kid... as an adult, of course. Oh, and non-fictional. (Oddly enough, I feel like this may have come to pass, and she kinda gave me a cold shoulder. What does that mean?)
I'd like to meet anyone who'll buy me things off this Amazon Wishlist. If nothing else, it's a peek into the bizarre miasma of interests in my mind, more than can be contained here. (Fair warning: there's over 1500 items on this now. I don't seriously expect to get them all, but you may wish to browse it by item type and/or priority for easier digestion.)
One more rating for the road:
You Are 73% Strange!
You are pretty darn strange. You're quirky and odd, and definitely not normal. But that's great--it makes you an interesting person. You aren't exactly as strange as they come, but congratulations on being quite unique!
PS: Who don't I want to meet? Spammers. Not that I figure they'd read this, but just in case: let me assure you, I know who you are without even needing to open your profile, and I report you every time. I've been online since 1992; I don't get fooled, period.
Hey, thanks for becoming part of my "friend" space! I'm looking to get more plugged in with creatives worldwide through this social network.
Indies kick corporate butt! Keep it up, Ken.
My Xeric grant winning book "Jazz: Cool Birth" is now in September's Previews for preorder at comic shops, a murder mystery in a 1957 jazz bar, with art and type based on '50s album cover design, dig? Bebop for your glims.
Info about comic books as a business and focused ramblings are at ComicArtistsDirect. com. "Adam Among the Gods" and "Seductions" have just been made available to buy online at Aazurn. com. The Aazurn Publishing Saga, a step by step account of creating and selling these comics is there, also.
I'm looking forward to exploring the MySpace pages of all of my new "friends" (Man, does that sound square).
