TUAREG […] nennt sich das Berbervolk der Sahara. TUAREG heißt in ihrer Sprache: „Söhne des Windes“. TUAREG ist aber auch der Klang von Folk, Punk, Soul und Independent-Rock, der seit 1991 über die Bühnen weht. TUAREG sind fünf Musiker, die inspiriert vom gleichnamigen Roman Alberto Vasquez-Figueroas unter diesem Namen eigene Songs mit eingängigen Melodien spielen. Mit einem Mix aus groovigen Rhythmen, rockigen Gitarren und mehrstimmigem Gesang begeistern sie ihr Publikum durch eine mitreißende Live-Performance. Energiegeladene und spacige Songs schaffen eine einzigartige Atmosphäre, die den Zuhörer mit auf die Reise durch ein buntes musikalisches Universum nimmt. Auf zahlreichen Club-Gigs und Festival-Auftritten in ganz Deutschland und in CZR spielte sich die Band in die Herzen des Publikums. Nach fast einjähriger Abstinenz kehrt sie nun mit der gewohnten Spielfreude auf die Bühne zurück – im Gepäck das mit Spannung erwartete neue Songmaterial. Erste Hörproben lassen bereits ahnen, dass TUAREG nach dem Erscheinen des erfolgreichen Albums BACALAO in puncto Power und Vielseitigkeit sogar noch zugelegt hat: viele neue Songs mit dem typischen TUAREG Sound – und doch frischer denn je.

TUAREG, meaning "sons of the wind" in the language of the Sahara's Berber Folk, are six musicians who found inspiration in Alberto Vasquez-Figueroa's novel of the same name. Angela, Andre Arno, Dirk, H.C. and Sven come from the Township Commons Viersen and have been around since 1991. In this time, the band has produced 4 CDs and has appeared in live concert to the delights of music fans in Germany and the Czech Republic. Tuareg's sound radiates with a mature and symbiotic exchange of personalities, talents and experiences. More than just a band, the crew's cast are as much of an epic story as they are merrymakers of musical magic. It wasn't too hard to imagine a fantasy screenplay based upon their song lyrics. Naturally, where they play the starring roles to their own soundtrack. From their name on down the line, everything just seems to fit. Tuareg's stirring folk/rock melodies, passionate multi part harmonies and hypnotic rhythmic percussions truly capture the spirit of the wind. It's no wonder this band has mystified and enchanted audiences for 18 years now.
