An extended EP of tracks from Minimoogli -- all numbers based around their great "Tribute To Fela", which is also included in the package! The core tune has a crackling sound that's almost a 21st Century cosmic take on Afro Funk -- bits of keyboards breezing around the rhythms, vocals, and snakey sax lines -- all elements taken to even bigger extremes on the remixes here! About A Funk For Fela :
Tubetracks start like with this groovesome tribute to the king of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti. 'A Funk For Fela' Afro Jam is a slow with spoken word track enlivened by tales of the exploitation of Africa from a Nubian princess, wonky keys and a Fela-style saxophone solo. Eric's dub adds 4x4 beats and a groovy bassline for a clubbier mix and the 12'' also features Minimoogli's subtle remix of Youssou N'Dour's 'Lima Weesu'. (very limited stock for the 12 inch)
