The Tubman is one of the oldest and greatest alternative music venues in Hastings. Run by a fantastically friendly bar staff, this pub showcases new local and national talent over the weekend and is a comfortable place to just chill out and have a drink during the week
The sad loss of one of the most original thinking pubs in the area as well as being a great place to hang out. The venue played host to originals-only Grunge/Rock/Indie/metal/Emo bands. The only one locally to do so.
One of my favorite venues to take photos in if not the best in the area for Black and white band shots. With a low white celling with simple domestic spotlights embedded around the celling i have produced some of my best photos.
To the bar staff and everyone associated with the Tubman, especially Kate who has strived so hard to bring the pub out of the gutter, got the pubs name known locally as well as further afield across the country as a premier venue and hosted some terrific bands, only to be kicked in the teeth, I salute you for all the great memories i have both in mind and in celluloid. Your beautiful venue will be sadly missed.
we will all be tubmanites for ever !! it's such a bad decision to turn it into a ''normal pub''. well to all staff past and present , to everyone i have ever met in there and shared a beer with , you will always be in my jack daniels tinged heart , and heck it's a small town so i'll probably see you around . tubman , on the 12th go out with a bang , i can't be there sadly i'm 200 miles away . but i will be thinking and rocking for you all ,

To everyone at the tubman, thank you all for so many good days and nights and I am gutted you are closing, Hastings just gets shittier and shittier :( I will make sure I'm there for the last day and will try my best to consume my body weight in Newcastle Browns ;) you all have my best wishes in whatever adventures you undertake next :) Alan
