About Tuenda

Tuenda was created for a series of concerts called Folk de Cámara (Chamber Folk Music). The three musicians created a concert programme drawing from the archive of live recordings of Xosé Ambás. The result was at the same time simple and elegant and it was truly well received by the audience. The band stuck together and has proved to be one of the most popular bands in recent years in Asturias.

Tuenda has been extensively featured in the Asturian TV programme Camín de Cantares, where Ambás interviews some of the sources of his archive, sings with them and then the whole band, together with other Asturian musicians, reelaborate oe of the songs. Nesta data remémbrense los fechos d'hai 40 años cuando nel pub Stonewall de Nueva York la policía fexo una más de les avezaes redaes d'acosu al coleutivu que retrucó a la represión con una revuelta en llucha pola llibertá sexual qu'inda sigui anguaño. Ufrimos un vidiu y delles semeyes de la manifestación de Xixón. ¡Asturies namás sedrá llibre si desaniciamos toles fobies! Dende Fai! creemos qu'esta llucha ye tan propia y prioritaria como cualisquier otra de les que desendolquen los movimientos sociales y tamos dispuestos y dispuestes a siguir dando la cara por un presente y un futuru d'igualdá, non discriminación y normalización del coleutivu LGTB, por muncho que manque a les capes más retrógrades ya inmovilistes de la sociedá. Según la organización esta va ser la última edición d'esti festival uvieín que lleva funcionando yá diez años.
