Showstoppa Shah Bobonis recently moved back to Miami to concentrate on his fighting career and rejoin the FFA fight team. This weekend he traveled to Monterrey Mexico to fight for the Combate Extremo Featherweight belt. He face off against Carloz Monzom, one of Mexicos top fighters with over twenty Armature wins and a 5-1 pro record. Mounzon known for over pwering his opponents and having a ground and pound style more dangerous than the swine flu looked to strike with Shah at the begining of the first round. Getting the raw end of the first two exchanges Munzon over committed to strikes allowing Shah to get a easy double leg take down. Shah quickly passed guard and established the crucifix position. Muzon being stronger than a shot of Patron was very hard to control on the ground but Shah moved several times from side control, to mount, back to half guard. Munzon being on the receiving end of more shots than the after party was desperate to get up in a scramble to try get to his feet Shah locked on a guillotine choke and pulled him into his guard. Trying to relieve the pressure Munzon rolled over and gave up mount but to no avail Shah finished the guillotine from mount. Shah is a winner of three of his last four fights with his only loss being a razor thin decision out of his weight class. He plans to defend his Combate Extremo title in December then move down to 135 lbs in 2010 and beat the best bantam weight fighters in the world.
