The Ramblers sound like a lonesome train whistle echoing down the valley, the creek rushing down the hollow to the river, whippoorwills in the moonlight, or rain falling on the cabin roof. The Tug Creek Ramblers sound evokes a simpler time when life moved more slowly and folks lived close to the land.
The Tug Creek Ramblers first came together in Summers County, West Virginia, home of the Great Bend Tunnel and the legend of John Henry. Steeped in the Appalachian tradition, the Ramblers play spirited acoustic string music... with a little electricity thrown in for good measure. Gary aka Cousin Jed and Stacy aka Red Rambler come from a long tradition of mountain musicians, having performed with the likes of George Ward, Joe Meadows, Jim Costa, Fat Ankle Band, the Eastern Border Band and Billy Two Shoes to name but a few.
Our good friends BILLY TWO SHOES bring together diverse styles to create original Americana music. The band has produced two excellent recordings, "Appalachian Memoirs" and their latest, "New Shoes". Cousin Jed had the honor and privilege to become one of the Billies for this new record and we hope you'll give it a listen and dance like we did when we heard the final mix. "New Shoes" will make your feet happy.
The Billies make music to help fund hunger relief in Appalachia.
Check out the Billies website. Buy a CD and you help to feed some folks in need. Your support is greatly appreciated!
