It’s just another quiet morning in the Brewster family home – tea is being served, newspapers are being read, and there’s a body in the window seat! The laugh-out-loud thriller comedy Arsenic and Old Lace centers around the Brewster ladies, Abby and Martha. These two sweet old ladies take it upon themselves to help lonely old men find piece – by poisoning them. Uproarious comedy ensues when the Brewster nephews Mortimer, a theatre-hating dramatic critic, and Jonathan, a homicidal maniac, enter the picture.

The Nicholls Players of Nicholls State University will be presenting Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace from March 19 -22. Productions will begin at 7:30pm with a Sunday matinee at 3pm. All productions will be held in Talbot Theatre. Tickets will be $10 for general admission and $5 for students of all ages.

To reserve tickets or find out more information, feel free to call the Office of Mass Communications at 985-448-4586.

The Nicholls Players is proud to announce this semester's production of Spoon River Anthology. Production begins this week, Oct. 16 - 18 (7:30pm) and Oct. 19 (3:00pm). Tickets are $10 General Admission and $5 for students of all ages. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 985-448-4586.

Hopefully you and your friends and family can come see the show. It is a good one; the students on and back stage are doing a wonderful job, for your pleasure!!!

In addition to the fine acting, there is live music, dance and wonderful pantomime. A bit about the play from another promoter: "Spoon River Anthology is a national treasure. Poet Edgar Lee Masters made a portrait of his home town community circa 1915 by writing an epitaph for each of the people buried "on the hill". Each epitaph is a miniature drama reflecting the country's defining experiences -- the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, the waves of pioneers and immigrants, the relentless industrialization that transformed the way people thought as well as the way they earned their livings. Playwright Charles Aidman, struck by the theatrical potential of the material, took some seventy of Masters' hundreds of poems and arranged them in an order (and dramatized them) where they would illuminate one another."

Please forward this to your family and friends who enjoy great theatre. We hope to see you there.

The Nicholls Players of Nicholls State University are proud to present Tennessee Williams’ masterwork, “The Glass Menagerie.” A production that is sure to make you both laugh and cry, “The Glass Menagerie” is a truly heartfelt jewel of American theatre. The semi-autobiographical piece set in 1930’s St. Louis centers around the life of Tom Wingfield, an aspiring poet who works in a warehouse to support his mother and sister. After his father abandoned their family, Tom is torn between his want for his own life and his responsibility to his disserted mother, who now lives vicariously through her children, and his sister, who is physically handicapped. The production is directed by Dr. Stanley Coleman and stars Laura Templet as Amanda(the mother), Dacia Persilver as Laura(the daughter), Joey Pierce as Jim(the gentleman caller), and Kirk Savoie as Tom(the son). The show will open March 13, 2008 at 7:30 and will run through March 16, 2008 (Sunday Matinee at 3:00). Admission is $10 for general admission and $5 for students. To reserve tickets or for any additional information, please feel free to call the Office of Mass Communications at 985-448-4586
