Books
The Actor's Audition by David Black
This book is geared toward the stage actor, though film enthusiasts will will still come away learning some valuable tips. Basically, this book explains the "Art" of auditioning and teaches a technique to best show off your strengths and own your audition. All in a quick, easy-to-read format. I really enjoyed it and recommend it for anyone in the industry! Besides, how will you land jobs if you don't audition well?
Acting as a Business by Brian O'Neil
Definitely for someone who wants to look professional. Turn your acting hobby into a successful career. Includes headshot/resume advice, how to market yourself and networking strategies. Awesome read, and it's short and sweet; finished it in a day! Go get it!
How to Get the Part Without Falling Apart by Margie Haber
Dude, this book rocks! My friend Dave is taking Margie Haber's classes in LA, lucky dog. If I had to sum her book up in one word, I'd have to say: Encouraging. While reading this book you'll be so mentally charged to go out and succeed it ain't even funny. This book covers it all, too. Auditions, Presenting yourself, Getting out of your own head, Breaking down scenes, Memorizing, Headshots and Resumes, freaking EVERYTHING about the Biz. Even her special Haber Phrase Technique for memorizing. For the beginner or the veteran! I'm gonna read it again.
An Agent Tells All by Tony Martinez
If you're an actor, this book is basically your bible. LA vs. NY. Actor/Agent etiquette and relationship. The lowdown of having a manager. How to succeed and be happy. It's all in here. A must-read.
Acting in Film by Michael Caine
This book is FILLED with information, all from an A-List actor's first-hand experiences, about movie making. From set etiquette to scene prep to marketing, this book freakin' has it all! I took notes out the wazoo, man. I totally recommend this book for anyone trying to break into film acting!
Sanford Meisner On Acting For the actor, this book's GREAT to read and GREAT to understand, but not for everyone to USE. It takes you back to basics and who wants to start all over this late in the game? Still, I recommend every actor have some sort of knowledge about Meisner's technique.
Bill O'Reilly's Culture Warrior I dunno much about political books. This one entertained me, though there were parts I didn't understand. If you respect the principles this country was founded upon by our forefathers and believe those principles should affect the way things are run today, then this book is for you. I enjoyed it.
Heroes
My Dad. He was the dreamer in his family and does nothing but succeeds. His attitude and outlook on life make him a great person to look up to. I hope to one day be as successful as he is.
My Grandpa Chris for fighting for our country. He flew over 200 missions in the USAF and received 2 distinguishing crosses and 14 air medals. He's had books written about him, man. Hero status.
Shannon Lee Squires. You died for this country in the war against Iraq. You couldn't have sacrificed more, bro. Thank you for giving me a newfound appreciation for the freedom I have. I'll always remember the good times and that cocky-ass attitude of yours. Thanks, my friend. I miss you and look forward to seeing you again.

How ya doin'? My name's Justin Tully and I'm a recent Cali-transplant from good ol' Va Beach! I've been pursuing acting about 5 years now and decided to take the leap. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know I'm in San Diego, but hey, it's closer to LA than Va Beach is, right? It's my goal to earn a living as a film actor here on the West Coast, to be a respectable role model, and buy myself that Audi I've always wanted!
I use MySpace to stay in touch with my friends and network with actors, agents, fans, or anybody who wants a little encouragement. I'm always looking for new contacts and love to talk shop so if you have questions or just want to chat it up, shoot me an email! And check out my site and blog at JustinTully.com!!
Thanks for checking me out and be sure to come back soon!

Well, if I had your good-looks and your honey...I'd say I already have everything I need. As far as NYC...once your here, it'll be easier. You have many categories you fit into...so I suspect I'll be borrowing money from YOU! Ha! The "process", long graduating levels. Most agents suck (unless you are a favorite), connections and hard work have got me to this level. We can talk more once you get here. Happy Holidays!
