Music
Normally I'm a classic rock kind of guy. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, I can go on and on. I love the feel of a great band with strong guitar, strong bass, strong drums, and great lyrics.
I also love the blues. Ella, B.B., god you can't go wrong with the blues.
Surprisingly even with all this I grew up in music in the late 80's and early 90's. I tend to find Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and the like very comforting in a weird way.
But every now and then there are pieces of music that just move me. I can't explain it, it's like it sinks in deeper than your ear, or head, or mind. It's like it touches part of your soul. There is a piece of music in the movie Blade Runner that gets me every time. 'Bladerunner Blues' another bit of this was found in a video game of all places. Chrono Cross, not a bad game by itself but the music in the game is fantastic. There are a few pieces composed by ??? (er what's his damn name?) That really can dredge up real feelings. Additionally listen to the piece playing now by Metisse. It's called 'Nomah's Land', I love it. It's one of those tracks I can play over and over again without tiring of it. Of course maybe I'm looking way to deep, and should just sit back and enjoy the rhythm.
Movies
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Clerks & Clerks 2, The Crow, Conan the Barbarian, The Prophecy, Free Enterprise, Bound, This could be a big list so I'll just leave it at these few, oh and I like John Cusack films too.
Television
Firefly, Farscape, Star Trek (Any Series, but preferably Deep Space Nine), Babylon 5, Scrubs, Dead Like Me, Eureka, Daria, M.A.S.H., Friends, Jericho, Stargate:SG1, Tripping the Rift, Red Shoe Diaries, X-Files, Veronica Mars, Angel, Becker, Animal Cops, Sopranos, Family Guy, I Love The 70's/80's/90's, Dresden Files, and Battlestar Galactica
Books
I love to read. I prefer Sci Fi and Fantasy. In particular I really enjoy Stephen King. I love the Dark Tower books and love haw most of Kings works somehow tie in to this incredible journey. I like Tolkien of course. What kind of geek would I be if I didn't like the ring series, but not only those but his other works as well. Robert Aspirin's Myth books are a riot. And for a total mind bender I recommend 'House of Leaves' to anyone. It's a little hard to get into, and it's a total mind fuck, but it's a great book once your there. And of course I love any book that my son or daughter brings me to read them as they sit in my lap while listening and pointing at the pictures.
You're The Hobbit!
by J.R.R. Tolkien All you wanted was a nice cup of tea when some haggard crazy old man
came into your life and told you it was time to do something with yourself. Now you're
all conflicted about whether to stick with your stay-at-home lifestyle or follow this
crazy person into the wild. While you're very short and a little furry, you seem to be
surrounded by an even greater quantity of short folks lately. Try not to lose your ring,
but keep its value in perspective!

By definition, I'm a Geek. I'm a white, bald male in my early thirties. My interests include Sci Fi, Fantasy, and Sex. I still read Comics and Books by the score, I like to watch and read porn, I'm still into Role Playing and War Gaming. I'm married happily, and have been for over four years now, I have two great kids (one of each) I'm teaching one to be a vigilante hero and the other to be a lesbian. I'll let you figure out which is which for yourself. Either way is cool with me, maybe they will both be Vigilante hero lesbians. Anyway, I'm in the US Navy, have been for about 14 years now and doing pretty well. I applied for Officer again this year so we'll see if the Navy has enough sense to give me a commision. I'm a Sci Fi nut I like Firefly, Farscape, Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Battlestar Galactica just to name a few; a comic book fiend, I like Wolverine, Nightwing, and Spiderman just to name a few, an avid reader, I like King, Gaiman, and Aspirin, And I'm a bit of a novice writer. If you want to read some of my stuff let me know and I'll send you a link to my stuff. I'm agnostic, which suits me just fine, but seems to erk every other religion that has been desperately trying to recruit me for their team. Anyway that should nicely some up the About me part of this thing. That is until I pick up that HTML for dummies book.
Take the quiz: Cowboy Bebop: Who are you? Spike Wow, so you're Spike! You're a laid-back guy and, even though you tend to act gruffly towards your shipmates, you love them deep down inside. You strive for vengeance and, though you don't care much about people you don't know, you do your best to help society. You use your fluidity and serenity to win your fights, and you're the Queen Bee of Bebop! Congratulations!

Dang! Sorry LOST didn't make it for you. Now that I've been through five seasons, the Locke thing does not seem like such a big deal anymore -- the Island's got mysteries way more mysterious than this. I can understand you not getting into the love triangle thing, as it does get annoying, and it's not even that complex yet in the ones you saw. Season 3, there are a lot of opportunities for Kate to use Jack's feelings as leverage even though what she wants him to do will benefit Sawyer, and by that time it's a quadrangle anyway because of the addition of Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell), who you just kind of feel sorry for because she's hot and yet no one loves her. Season 1 is very "lord of the flies," definitely.
Hope you get a very big dinner out of this, since you did way more watching than was required!
That's a great bet! But I don't think three episodes is enough to do it. Or maybe it depends on which three episodes.
I really didn't get super-hooked on the show until the middle of the first season. Episode 8, "Confidence Man," was the one that did it. Guess who that one's about? :-)
